I have just had a new (Sintered) clutch fitted to my Gallardo (A couple of days ago) and have noticed that when I pull away in first gear, as the clutch is engaging sometimes the car judders, sort of like it is slipping. Anyone know if this is normal for a new clutch until it has bedded in, or should I be taking it back to LHW for them to look at it. LHW are about 100 miles away, so I would like to avoid going back if I can.

Thanks!

Have you phones to ask them yet?

No, not yet, I am going for a long drive later, I will see if it's something I am doing, perhaps I am not giving it enough revs when I pull away. Although I am driving it in the same way I did when it had it's old clutch.

Is it manual? Try releasing the clutch without any throttle at all.

You should find it pulls away smoothly then you can feed the throttle in once you're rolling.

If we're manouvring in the showroom we don't touch the throttle. Makes for much smoother moves, and feels much kinder to the transmission!

I rarely use the throttle when pulling away, until the clutch is fully engaged. Been a number of threads on here about it prolonging clutch life significantly.

Yes it is a manual. I think the clutch is ok after my drive. I will have to learn better control at crawling speeds.

I tried the no throttle thing, your right, the car is really smooth, A bit fast though. Not the best car for creeping forward slowly, using clutch control really pains me.

2004 model original clutch at 14K, throttle never gets touched until the clutch is fully engaged. My missus in our smart car can beat me off the line, but then my clutch would costs half the price of the smart car.

I think there is definitely something in it, my original 2005 model clutch had 26500 miles on it, with still probably a couple more K's life in it. Down to good driving I guess. Also down to the previous owner, not me unfortunately!
