Hi guys! My uncle in Brescia who's lucky enough to own a Murcielago wanted to make it known that the Magneti Marelli Murcielago throttle bodies can indeed be refurbished when faulty. He had 2 of them go faulty on the left bank just after Christmas and having used David Askew of David Askew Maserati parts in the UK for his 4200 spyder, he contacted him and he got them done at a fraction of the new unit price. So far they are working fine. Just thought it would be worth mentioning.

Ciao!
Alessandro

Ciao,

Do you know who actually does them? What was the cost?

Cheers.

David Askew got it done by a technician who does electronics repairs specifically for him.
The cost depended on the repair type. The basic refurb was about £350 I think (one of my uncle's units just required this) and the other one required a full refurb with new internals which cost about £690, though that one came back like brand new. I know there's a discount which he does if more than two are done at the same time but I can't remember the figure off the top of my head. Sorry...
Anyway, give him a call, he's been very helpfull and seems to be well thought off for spares.
Ciao!
