I have noticed that a lot of Gallardo's have embossed badges on their steering wheels, like this

and others including mine which is an 05 has a badge, like this

No important reason for knowing, I am just curious, was it an option?

I think it was just an update on the 06+ cars.

I like the newer steering wheels, however nothing wrong with the old ones.

If it was an update, why do you think mine would have it, it's a 2005 car.

IIRC, the model years go from sep or oct each year so if yours is late 05 it could be an 06MY car...?

It was registered March 2005, but a few people have commented that it is more like an 06 car, than an 05. I have never driven an official 06 car, so I just don't know.

Doesn't the branding pack have Lamborghini written across the top of the glovebox? Mine doesn't have that.

Look at the last digits of your chassis number - the number immediately before the before the 'LA' denotes the model year, i.e. '6LA' is 2006 Model Year.

It says 5LA, 2005 it is then. Thanks.
