Viola on a Lamborghini...what is your opinion
Discussion
I think it's the most amazing colour. Seems to fit in the middle of any other colour you'll ever see on the road. Has to be one of the most outrageous pairings of colour and car design ever.
It's also very rare. Was available on the SE30 (about 50 to 60 of the cars) and a few isolated customers managed to get their SV or Roadsters in the colour (was not officially available).
Quite a few of the viola cars you'll see are have been re-coloured to achieve this colour.
It's an iconic colour only seen on the diablo model.
The name of the colour isn't actually viola it's simply called "THIRTY".
The much darker colour available on the murci is called viola ophilia.
Possibly the only photo in existence of the two shades together.

As the thread title says, what is your opinion of Viola on a Lambo? I have never seen it in the flesh, and it is a rare colour, is it liked or disliked? Car in question is a Diablo.
Cheers
Is the car in question in fact the above diablo for sale in the classifieds? Cheers

I think car enthusiasts like it but non enthusiasts dont.
Seems to be the case ok Matty, but what do you think, have you seen it for real? Impressions?I would definitely own an SE30 but less so a Diablo re-painted in Viola and Im not really a fan of the later Viola compared to the SE colour.

Pete, the car Steve is talking about is a viola ophilia 6.0 not thirty purple. I think it looks well but really depends on the light as it hits it.
I agree Steve, I have a love/hate relationship with the colour of my Murci.Viola Ophilia looks great with the light behind the car or from the side, but goes a nasty maroon colour when the light is behind you. A downside of high pearlescent colours I think. Assume the3 ground coat is the reason for this.
Is a nice combination of a bright colour that still looks smart though.
All cars will appear dated with the passage of time but they will always be "of a period" and will be appreciated as such. With this in mind I would always use a period colour for a car and preferably the original colour. Viola is associated with the SE30, and in particular the launch car that appeared out of a cake at the factory in 1993, but I am a little uncomfortable about its use on "other" cars irrespective of whether they are older or newer than the SE30.
