Hopefully when launched they'll change their mind and not call it a GTO..............unless it is a homologation special, like the other GTO's

Great Pics.

When are you getting yours, Traxx? I'm umming and arghing....I understand that they are all spoken for - but I've been approached to see if I'm nterested. Would be very keen - but would need to broker a divorce first!

How's the SV?

I'm going to bet it turns up with a few days of my 458 because thats what happens with most of my cars

SV is running up some serious miles - all those trips to the supermarket are adding up

Circa £300K for a Ferrari badged "GTO" which is slower around Fiorano than a lowly 430 Scuderia.

hahahahahahaaaaaa!

Dear oh dear rolleyesrolleyesrolleyesrolleyesrolleyesrolleyesrolleyes

A Scuderia does Fiorano in 1.23.9, Enzo does 1.24.9
Are you seriously trying to say that because the Scuderia is faster over a short twisty circuit than an Enzo, its a better car?

Well, sorry but I'm a bit of a purist - and what I'm seriously saying is something far worse for all the people out there that think Ferrari can do no wrong. SHOCK. HORROR!

I'm saying Ferrari:
a) cannot sell 599s to save their lives - 599 handling pack equipped cars have been offered to me at some £40K off list and that's before I could be bothered to negotiate. Same applies in the Far East and Middle East countries. These cars are just not interesting anymore TBH.

b) So to get 200 to 400 odd more units moving (Ferrari always make more than they promise), they are badging this con-job as "GTO". Exactly what kind of competition is it homologated for??? NOTHING. It'll never be the basis of a car that sees any track. Talk about destroying a truly mythical product.(although the 288 never went racing, at least it wasn't a fake). The last two GTO's were the amongst the greatest cars of all time. This'll be forgotten about within a year in a fake limited run that dealers will be calling me up about begging me to take their unsold cars. (can anyone say 16M).

c) £275-£300K price tag with options not a problem in itself. But I'm no muggins. I wont pay £60K more for sticky tyres, wheels, bodykit and an ECU upgrade and special badge that despite it's "GTO" heritage is slower than a Scud.

So what's the POINT?? A fake "GTO" slower around Ferrari's own test track than their stripped V8 where I pay a £80k premium?
Now, get the car down to a real 1400kg and ask £450K and I'll shut my mouth and I'll believe it's GTO and would consider it.

Today I consider it a Joke car. Talk about diluting the brand. rolleyes

IMO to justify the GTO badge this cars needs to be a balls out effort from Ferrari. Think 1400 kg and 700hp. Not a simple restyle, ecu flash and obligatory price hike.

I find this car frustrating which is a really bad thing for a new car when you haven't even driven it!

Although a huge plus point from this is clearly just how good the Scuderia actually is! drivingbow

I think this car is a con job but not necessarily because its badged as a GTO.

Theyve basically Stradale-fied a 599, put bits of the XX on it (not a lot - which is a disappointment in itself), its allegedly slower than a Scud in 2010, its no Enzo and most of all its £300k.

2 years of production, definitely not sold out. I'd rather have the F50 or keep my 16M.

I reckon tat Traxx is better placed than many to have a view.

It's intersting how much noise hits these pages nowadays.

Maybe I'm just too old.

Either way Traxx - let me know - drop me a line - and we'll hook up for a beer. I reckon it must be my turn!

HN - get that F50. It's a brilliant car. Thing is, the good ones are heading toward £400K now.

I've been lucky to hear the GTO drive round Fiorano, and seen the lap times that go with it, along with all the other performance figures.
Just wait for the official Ferrari PR on the car and then maybe a few of you will understand its not just an ECU remap and a body kit .

I get the second car into my dealers, and knowing what I know, I really can not wait.

I want to like this car and see the point in it. It has to be very special to make it worth the premium over the HGTE and the name GTO, imho.

Presumably there is going to be three vents on the bonnet where it is covered, in reference to the 250? I want to see it fully uncovered.

well i went to a client briefing today and got to know all about it. 1.24 lap time exactly as i posted up over a month ago. pretty much as you see on the pics. lots of tech from the XX such as gearbox software, wheel donuts etc. 100kg weight saving using lighter materials but no real carbon panels other than optional side skirts, rear diffuser, headlamps etc. bigger wheels as per pics, new michelin tyres (weather friendly cups). no 250 style bonnet vents, just 4 XX type bonnet vents although you can have some 250GTO livery (silver with yellow flag across bonnet). you can also have scud stripes. £300k base, prolly 320k specced. not many uk cars this year or next.

btw i asked why it was badged a GTO when its not homologated and the answer was something along the lines of... it has been created in the same spirit as the GTOs of the past for those drivers who want a more focussed car. the scud is slower as it only does a 1.25 time.
