Not the usual question about which one, but how many 360 owners looked into changing exhaust systems and in the end decide not to. I ask because I keep thinking about it but can't make my mind up as the Mrs said it's a bloody noisy thing already.
Does it change the character of the car is another thing?, I've changed exhaust's on Lotus car's in the past and it does make the car feel more solid and grunty if you know what I mean!.

Opinions please

Cheers

In my opinion it does change the character of the car. I couldn't quite decide if I should jump in and get a Tubi when I first got the car. But once I heard one with it - there was no turning back. Best upgrade I ever did. Go and have a listen is my advice - but prepare to want one ears

A bit of a tangent, but when I bought a 911 some years ago, I wanted a 993. My (ex) wife didn't like the floor hinged pedals so in the end I bought a 996. She drove the car *once* in all the time I had it as a daily driver. Moral of the story is that if you optimise for something, make sure it's the right thing.

My advice would be listen to Bebs' car then try and convince yourself that stock is better. You WILL fail, but try it anyway! smile

Been thinking about getting a Tubi for a while now and still not convined. Un-plugged the rear exhaust valves and to be honest it seems loud enough when needed. smile

Like anything its down to personal preferance.

Bebs, looks like you will be attending the Cheddar Gorge meet. If I ask nicely you could maybe give me a demo? Will be good to hear one in the flesh.

yes no problem. Its important to note that it doesn't just make it louder. It changes the whole tune/melody of the engine/exhaust completely which is what makes it so addictive. It revs more freely and it just feels like the engine has been 'unleashed' if you know what I mean. Gone is the standard flimsy metallic rasp, even with the valves open its pretty appalling compared to a Tubi or Cappy.

Hi Steve
It's an interesting question. As a first step I'd permanently open the exhaust valves, it's the easiest mod ever, see what you think. I've decided to keep mine standard apart from that. I'm perfectly happy with the note and I'm mindful of the full cargraphic system I put on my previous 993, it gave a great sound but because of that I found I drove it significantly harder as a result. I've a horrible feeling a tubi/cap would just get me arrested quicker...

Its a valid point - although I've managed to keep the rozzers abay during the past 86,000 miles in mine.. mind you I have been stopped twice for allegedly driving without insurance.. yes it was covered but their system takes 2 weeks to update rolleyes

You must have a special car there Bebs, a high mileage Ferrari with a matching odometer!! And I'll bet my 360 that it's in better condition than many of the circa 20K sheds that I looked at. Go figure.... I take my hat off to you mate.

Bebs took about 18 months to convince me to get mine changed.

Actually thats not strictly true i knew i wanted to change i just didnt know what i wanted to change it to.

It does make a huge difference in terms of enjoying the car, there is more attention sure but most of it is positive and if it isn't then the noise drowns it out anyway smile
There are a lot of different systems and one will suit your needs, just a case of hearing the right one.
oh and go for something louder than you think you want, simply because when you get used to it, you wont be wishing you'd gone for the upgrade!

Obviously I would say it's a nice car - but according to Karl at Verdi and a great number of people that have seen it - they cannot believe it has done that much mileage. They key is to stay on top of the maintenance. Mine has never wanted for anything but it does get driven.. a lot. I used to commute every day through London in it driving
