Discussion
Hello again, lots of questions with this new purchase, reading through comments it appears that generally the std exhaust note on the F430 is not regarded as its best 'Ferrari' feature. I undertand the usual way forward is with a TUBI system, I have been offered a full Tubi Evolution system fitted for £2710 + VAT, does this seem reasonable? Also can anyone recommend a 'specialist' in the Yorkshire area, servicing is obviously going to Ferrari, but for these 'extras' it would be good to know someone local. Thanks
Up to you but I'd check with the dealer what their view on warranty is if you modify the car, also your insurers.
If you intend it to be a garage queen and brought out for a half hour blast on a sunny Sunday I guess these shouty exhausts are fine if shouting is your thing.
But if you plan on using it, they become a booming, headache inducing, embarrassing pain in the arse IMHO.

Thanks for the input, I dont know much about these cars other than the fact I fancied one so your remarks are appreciated. You forgot the bit about robbing the car of much of the little low end torque it used to have, with the added advantage of not giving it back at the top end...In what way am I "wrong?"

Scan Pistonheads Classifieds for Gallardos/Murcielagos/355s/360/575 etc and even the odd Enzo/F50/F0 Porsches etc and see how many have a sports exhaust. LOADS.
Then tell their owners that their systems (which can run to thousands of pounds) remind you of a Saxo outside McDonalds.
The advent of fuel injection, cats, noise regs, means that some of these supercars sound very unexciting and they could do with some aftermarket help (unlike say classic Ferraris). Just listen to an LP670-SV - it sounds hopless unless you absolutely cane it. So people fit noisy exhausts. It's that simple.

I did just say that I don't like them and it was my opinion, but that others would disagree, no need to get personal.
ANYWAY. You two go and do handbags at 10 paces elsewhere.
Back on topic for the OP.
The price seems OK for the exhaust. As for fitting, any muppet with half a dozen spanners will be able to fit it for you, so don't get caught up with Ferrari tax on this one. The only thing I would add is that different sports exhausts sound different depending on the model of car, so its worth listening to a few if you are able, and also the differing noise levels.
eg, Capristo is arguably the dog's danglies for a 355, but I think a tubi is king for a 360. 430 I cannot say, however you might want to also look at Stebro, Larini, X-OST, Quicksilver and a few others. They're all known names in Ferrari circles, all with their own followings and (more importantly) their own noises I expect. What you want to avoid (as said before) is paying good money for something which you love for the first 30 minutes then find annoying as it will ruin the car. the plus side is that the good quality exhausts generally have decent retail.
Otherwise, a lot of shops will allow you to test run a system for a week with the option of returning to standard. Might be worth looking at also.

I can only speak for myself and in my opinion the standard box on a 360 sounds awful and 'strangled' For me the whole driving experience changed with a Tubi and it certainly seemed to rev more freely. I know what you're saying about booming Bertie - all new tubis do that - they need to be 'run in' Mine stopped any signs of booming after a few thousand miles - never mind the 60,000 miles I have put on it since

I still think it very much depends on your usage of the car.
I use mine almost every day, and thus it's not for me.
For a blast at a weekend it's fine if that's what you want, like I said before.
I would check the warranty / insurance thing out first before deciding though.
All very much IMHO before anyone tries to kill me.
