I've been offered a Gallardo, its got 32k on the clock, full main dealer lambo history with a recent clutch, its a 53 plate (2004), black on black, any ideas what its worth please?

I've been tempted for a while and unlike before, I am able to get insurance on one now.

Thanks.

Manual or E-Gear? Options list?

If it's manual & basic spec, probably £50k private & £55-60k Dealer.

Am sure there will be some more knowledgeable opinions along shortly.

Nice decision to be making! thumbup

It's, manual, but I am not fussed one a paddle shift gearbox, I have looked on the net and can't find any Lambo for under £53,995 and these have specialist history. In terms of options, its standard and not heavily equipped as far as i'm aware.

I seriously wouldn't worry about a specialist service history, I have had better service at some specialists than main dealers. Spend a couple of hundred quid and get an inspection. That way you can make sure any problems are ironed out before you take delivery and may save you a fortune in the long run. Also recent new clutch is meaningless, a clutch that's 2 months old can be in worse condition than one thats 2 years old, depends how it is driven.

I wouldn't say a recent new clutch is meaningless - it does definitely increase the odds of not having to fork out for a replacement anytime soon.

Satnav is a decent option, tubi exhaust is a bonus.

I'd say around the mid 50's at best, but as mention earlier, have it inspected first.

Ok thanks Gents, I will keep you posted, as with all the cars I buy I won't keep it for long, but I will definitely get it inspected as I do with all the cars I buy these days (prestige cars anyway). The car is just under the mid 50'5, just waiting to view the car and ill make my decision!

Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a V8V in the summer and i'm just wondering if there is anything to look out for in the early models i.e. 05 versus a later 56-08 model? I've wanted a convertible car for SOOOOOOO LONG! but I dunno if I can stretch the extra 5-7K for one. My budget is 45K but when i look at the convertibles for 52K+ I think that is R8/Lambo money. Help me! This will be my first high end marque car. I'm still a little bit undecided; 911 Turbo, F360, R8, V8V, C63AMG, I have test drove a V8V last week and I did really like it!
Bad at English and a liar or a young dreaming kid! It was an Aston on Monday..... You wont get a Lambo for 45k sorry mate and also you can't get insurance free on the back of a packet of cornflakes.

Why are you following my threads, hanging on to every word I write? I just asked a simple question and just want a simple answer. I have a lot of options and money I can pull from various places, but I'm undecided as to how much risk I want to take when I buy my next car. I can really stretch to 55/57K if I want to but I want to gather full information first! I have a lot going on in my head, I could get a lambo for 3/4 months then switch to the Aston and keep that. I have a list of cars I want to go through, which are all in the list I provided in the thread you quoted. I WILL OWN ALL OF THEM 1 by ONE!! Believe me or not! I know my income is only going one way and thats UP! So I can take a risk now and struggle for a bit or I can be sensible and buy something I can afford to maintain and keep that for a while then swap to the lambo later. I have always punched above my weight all my life but I have generous parents to thank for that; who always bailed me out and always WILL bail me out! NOW DO U UNDERSTAND! ENJOY READING!!

The problem with your theory of getting a Lamborghini for a few months and then switching to an Aston is the cost of switching between the two. You are not a dealer and would be at a disadvantage in trading, in other words you would have to be extremely astute to come out of it financially unscathed. A better idea is to carefully consider what you can afford having looked at the costs involved in each car from all angles - cost of purchase, running, and disposal. Then choose the one which suits you best and hold onto the car for a year or two. It is very easy to let the heart rule the head in these matters.

BTW once you get your preferred car, don't forget to post pics not forgetting to include a shot of a tin of Birds Custard somewhere on or in the car wink

Assuming you're serious, you'd be much better off just joining a supercar club if you're desperate to experience all those types of cars, otherwise you'll just lose a shed load of money switching between them all.

As a side note, You've just come onto a public forum and basically shouted "I am very rich and even if I lose all my money mummy and daddy will bail me out", which is not particularly conducive to getting people's help/advice. Maybe you didn't mean it to sound like that but it did. Just a thought.
