Hi Guys,
Im planning a trip to Monaco for my 30th (and my dads 70th!) with a few friends and wondered if any one else is driving down as well?
We will be leaving on the Wednesday night, driving through France to the Alps, then re-tracing some of the old stages from the Monte Carlo Rally - arriving on Friday night.
Its the first time I have been and wondered if any one had any advice?!? What is the situation with the parties after the race etc...
Any pointers are much appreciated!

Post race parties are so-so, pre race parties are immense! The whole circuit turns into a big party zone until about 2/3am. There's no need to pay for expensive parties such as Rascasse and Jimmyz as there's plenty of opportunity to have a good time, see the yachts, walk the circuit, grab some beers etc etc. Last year Stringfellows was well worth a visit, not sure if they're having a repeat this year (pre book as it's v expensive on the night if you don't have useful contacts). PM me if you need more details. Also, if you have a spare space on the way back can you let me know - at the moment I've only booked a flight out

Funster... Great advice, thank you very much. I have just reserved our party a place at the Stringfellows Bash ;-)
I will PM you my contact details as it would be good to touch base ahead of the trip... and to discuss the trip back (some are driving straight home on the Monday, some are driving the Route Napoleon back).
I was worried that the parties would only take place behind firmly closed doors!
I cant wait!

So then guys... only one week to go. Is anyone else going to be in Monaco next weekend?
I’m struggling on the route at the moment. I really wanted to head over the Col de Turini, but I think it may be a little tight and twisty for a Gallardo and two M5's?
Any suggestions?!?
We did the Col de Turini last week on the way down to the Classic GP.I’m struggling on the route at the moment. I really wanted to head over the Col de Turini, but I think it may be a little tight and twisty for a Gallardo and two M5's?

We managed it in a massive Bentley Continental T so you should have no problems in an M5 which is like a Smart car in comparison!

Im going next weekend for the GP, and would love any tips on getting into any of the pre race parties.
chers m'dears
A lot of the parties are yacht based, corporate entertainment or serious wonga based. The whole circuit fills with bars and entertainment though so don't not go just because you haven't got a ticket for something! Just 12 hours seperates these photos -chers m'dears
Night before-
Watching the race-
Also, if you get a chance bounce down the coast to the Cannes Film Festival (13th-23rd May) and check out a classic silent film on the beach with a picnic!
