So Friday night, there I was sitting with my beloved Gransport thinking; why am I getting rid of you? I've had you since birth and now I am discarding you like an unwanted toy..........

On Saturday morning, my 5 1/2 year old Daughter was in floods of tears as we pulled up at the dealer when the time finally came to say goodbye to the GS and hello to my new 2010 GTS.

I must say that all these emotions have fallen into the distant memory now that I have had the GTS for 24+ hours. Whilst I was always very happy with the GS, the GTS is well,,,,,, pretty cool I must say. It has all the cool funky nice-to-haves, the right (in my opinion) interior, exterior, wheels colour combo but most importantly,,,,, it has that exhaust sound in sport mode :-)

I had the loudest Tubi for my GS and it sounded like a pea-shooter compared to the stock exhaust on the GTS in sport mode. It has the perfect resonance in all the different rev and load ranges and they must have spent and age optimising it.

On the power side, the biggest difference is the torque. Much more and more accessible further down the rev range. Where on the GS, you had to be on top of the revs and in the right gear to go anywhere, the GTS is very flexible in-gear and not (dare I say it) unlike a 911 in this context.

Overall, very very happy and look forward to a good 5 year relationship.....

Fingers crossed.

Look forward to the experiences of any other GTS owners on here.

Exactly the same swap I made, and, however much I love my GTS (which is loads) I do sometimes still miss the slightly harder, racier edge of the GS. I am toying with the idea of getting another GS now they are so cheap second hand.

Good luck with it smile

Congratulations!

What spec did you go for? Actually, a couple of pics would tell me most of what I need to know smile

O/T: Out of interest, where did you PX yours GS? I'm about to turn up the heat on looking for one.

Spec is Grigio Avorio with anthracite neptune alloys with Rosso Corallo interior, Bose, comfort pack, CD, Bluetooth, Ipod connector, red calipers + more than I can remember.

Weather is pants at the moment so will have to wait to the weekend to get some proper pictures.

P/X'd car at Lancasters in Colchester.

I have had mine for 8 months now and it still makes me break into a smile every time I get in and then doubly so when I press the sport button, true genius. If your duaghter is anything like my two girls (10 & 7) you will not be allowed to drive without the sport button pressed, which is probably a fair point anyway!

I reckon it is one of the best value for money buys out there, you really do get a very well resolved car. I took mine to the South of france 2 days after getting it and it was simply awesome, as you would expect given the name. The flexibility of the engine is very impressive and yet when you want to you can wring it out through the gears and let it behave as if it were a sports car. I have also been impressed with the build quality although over the weekend my first electrical problem cropped up. Plugged my iPhone in and whilst I could play what was already playing on the iPhone I had no control over it nor could I access the playlists. May have been a one off and haven't tried to see if it is still a problem with an iPod but suspect a trip to the dealer may need to be made if it doesn't resolve itself soon.
