Not sure what to say about this really. The little piece of purple prose in the advert really is a piece of genius - look out for it in a publication soon.

Why would anybody want to buy a real F40 (or any Fezza for that matter) when you could own this for a mere £18k? Spool up the turbo and it's bye-bye time... as the blonde in the passenger seat winks her glass eye, waves to you, and flashes a glimpse of the cheese-covered black stumps of her teeth as they go past...

...and then, on arriving at the pub, you can drop to the ground and show the women how many press-ups you can do, and flash off your chunky gold jewelery.

Shame there doesn't seem to be a picture of the instrument panel though. Must have been an oversight. I did enjoy seeing it listed with all the genuine Ferraris though- exactly the right place for it, as anybody considering buying a real Ferrari would no doubt seriously consider taking a look at this first and firmly grasping the opportunity to hear the classic bark of that 'Ferrarified' Toyota engine.

I bet all you enthusiasts who own a real F40 are feeling pretty stupid now... eh? eh?

I agree that ferrari looks very st, like most replica's, but i was browsing through the you'll-never-be-able-to-buy-one-of-those section of the classifieds on here and saw these 2 replica's in the lamborgini section :

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1187398.htm

And

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1250353.htm

And thought to myself they actually don't look that bad at all, probably because they are custom kitt cars and not based on some other model like a MR2 or celica or something.

And for 20-30K you'll have the looks, they probably go as well (with a 3.9 V8 engine) and they are actually affordable to run/insure for the "normal" man. Or am i missing something here ?

I too have looked at the Lambo stuff a good few times in the `never be able to afford section` and seen these. Done a bit of research in the past and you'll want to speak to THESE GUYS about those above. They'll even do you a V12 instead of the V8 as above.

Wow, do you think it will be a good investment and go up in value, esp once the Max Power feature come out? biggrin

Is it just me or does this replica not even look remotely like a F40 ?

There are a couple of really nice touches though. The reg plate "FIG 2164" with the text underneath "F1 Grand Prix 216.4 MPH". I also like the wooden steering wheel - probably taken from a 250 GTO.

Classy guy.

Good grief! Why do people bother - the original car was probably quite nice and could have had a bit of work done to make it something special. But that eek

yuck

That truly is one of the biggest pieces of st I've seen in a long, long time

18k?

Hmmmm........tough choice here - very tidy, low mileage E46 M3 or a car that would look fugly to somebody with severe cataracts and will no dount get attention for all the wrong reasons wherever you go?

Having said that, if I won the Euro I'd buy it and torch the fker as a favour to all lovers of Ferrari

(Have to say though, the Diablo shown above is pretty damn convincing!)

The F40 replica looks awful but the Lambos look good.

Hey if somebody cant afford an original good luck to them! They love cars just like everybody else.
