Does anybody know what cars are going to be in the gumball 3000 this year and also is it going the usual route down the M20. I would like to wait over the bridge on the M20 near the eurotunnel on the 1st May and also what time is it starting?

Damn, that's the same day as the Auto Italia day at Brooklands!

I live a few miles from the M20 so have done the same some years and watched (and listened to!) them pass by.
Free motorshow!!!

It's usually late afternoon / early evening when they come through, but I don't know if it's the same this year.

Oh yes - an immense highly modified Ferrari 599 ( cough cough )

Several Veyrons, a very special selection of cars that will wet your panties, the usual ferrari, lambo, maser and of course comedic cars!

In the next week or so people will start posting their wrapping and modding in fun for it!
Bring on May 1st!!

It's my dream to do the gumball, but I imagine that's all it's ever going to be. For anyone Reading this that's going, have fun and drive safe.

Don't park your small white van on a bridge over the M20 like so many spectators do.

They look a lot like camera vans when you're licking along at a rate of knots...

In fairness, if you want to do the Gumball and "lick along at a rate of knots", you are the one actually asking for the speeding ticket, Your basically advertising your self to the police, you may as well write them a statement saying "Iv got a fast car, travelling with many others & we are going to be travelling to X, along the XY Road between X&Y pm".

Im actually a fan of the Gumball, it seems good fun, but some of the behaviour by certain individuals' is unexplainably stupid...

I heard that a celebrity, i think it was Sienna Miller, in a Keonigsegg went way over 250 km/h in america.

Why anyone would want to join in this global Willy waving contest is beyond me. Having seen it on TV I cannot understand the attraction of being with a bunch of z-listers and wannabee's flashing their cash and dubious driving skills to the world. Its all fun and games until they kill a couple of people ...

I genuinely cant think why. Its seriously way past its sell by date now.

For a fraction of the £40K (or whatever it is) entry fee you could have a 2 week blast around Europe with a few like minded mates, stay in great hotels, drive brilliant roads (as opposed to doing 800 miles a day which means nothing but dull motorways), stay relatively under the police radar and not have to put up with any nobs.

Spot on. The large organised 'rallies' have had their day. I'm amazed they still run the Gumball after Mr Morley's incident a couple of years ago.

According to Jodie Kidd it was 242mph, wasn't driven by Sienna Miller, it was a man.

Though she said this on Top Gear so it should probably be taken with a pinch of salt tongue out

I would also love to do it. Not only the hooning but the partys look incredible. Similar to wanting to do the Nurburgring or the Monaco GP circuit in your won car. I guess some of us petrolheads are just different.

Anyone seriously trying to compare the Gumball to going on a hoon(keeping within speed limits)with your mates is kidding themselves on. Sure there was the incident last year but i have been on hoons up North in Escorts & Ibiza's that have ended with the odd car having its last rites. Besides, its not only 200mph supercars that take partsl, was there not an Old Ice-cream van last year and the odd slower Range Rover/SUV.

I'm near Maidstone, and usually spectate (without a white van) from Hollingbourne bridge, as you can see for about a mile up the motorway.

The last couple of times it's used this route the police have escorted them through in bunches of twenty or so cars at a time, keeping most peoples' speed down.
