The wear warning light came on this morning, confusing since the outer pads look fine on all wheels. I guess it's wheels off time at the weekend to take a look.

Should they need replacing, there has been a lot of postings on here re RS6 or RS4 pads that are identical. Can someone say difintitvely if they do actually fit and if so from what model year Audi? Mine is an 04 G.

Not being cheap, i just feel that paying Lambo £800 for a set of pads is a bit steep!

Cheers

Same as the RS6. Audi part number (for front) 3D0698151A. I can't find the part number for the rear. It seems a lot of parts are the same, at a much cheaper price if got from Audi.

Very useful thanks.

I assume that's for the fronts.. any idea on the rears, in case thats where the issue lies?

I am not sure, I got that part number by using google a while ago, I am trying to compile a list of cross compatible parts in case I need them in the future! I did come across these, not sure if they are any good though. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LAMBORGHINI-Gallardo-5-0-200...

Thanks once again. these are good, but i don't think have the wear sensors, which i would like. I recall a thread a while back about a place in Birmingham that can supply te OEM Brembo (?) pads for a reasonable price. I think thet were APE, but the 0121 382 ... number on the net is a different company. Anyone know how i can get hold of them these days?

OK it seems that TRW/Lucas make the fronts but not the rears. I assume i need fronts as the rears have no sensor as far as i am aware.

Ferodo make both, as do EBC.

Any views?

TRW / Lucas Girling pads have the wear sensors and only cost me £100 + postage. They work fine for normal road work, got mine from APE in Birmingham.

They are the same on the RS4 and RS6, fronts only.

Would it matter if I put the TRWs on the front and some Ferodos on the back (since TRW don't do rear pads for the G)?

I have a full set of brand new gallardo brake pads from Lambo London, still in original packaging (not softer compound RS6 pads). Contact me if you are interested.

The fact you own an early Gallardo makes you an enthusiast, rather than someone who has bought a Lambo as a fashion statement. Also bearing in mind the original reason for this posting, you are trying to source some brake pads from an alternative source for hopefully less than the 800 quid the dealership want surely is taking a "hand on" approach even if you don't fit them yourself!

bowtie

Most people can bend over, but they don't expect to be reamed every time.

I thought Pagid made the pads for Brembo! if this is correct you should be able to get the correct pads much cheaper via a Pagid supplier (unfortuneatly the ones for the Ferrari ceramic discs are a tied part so they are not allowed to sell them).

Hi,http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=793312
old post 3rd one down.
I got front and back for £255 del.
I have been told you can get the rear sensors which clip in to the pads
as an option.
They seem perfectly ok,they do create dust though.
Hands on...you bet ya biggrin

cheers
