Can anyone give me anymore information or point me in the right direction regarding this car.

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1664621.htm

It looks ideal in terms of the spec i'm looking for, red with black, manual, GTB. Is is an ex stripped out raceing car or is it a road car with extra bits, super hard suspension, racing brakes, etc?

Also, is there anywhere else I should be looking for a 355. Keep checking this site, Autotrader and the FOC.

Cheers.

Theres nothing like taking a F355 up and down an empty "Le Circuit de Gueux" W111AAM. I assume the TVR was yours in your profile pic?

From the photos the vacuum pipe that should be attached to the exhaust bypass valve is missing on that car.
So it's either fallen off (unlikely as it should be hose clamped on), the valve is wired open (bad but depends on the back box fitted) or shut all the time (even worse).
Of course it may have been sorted since the photo was taken.

Do your research before hand and make sure you get an independent specialist inspection on any car.

As for the Challenge v Standard car debate, just buy the best you can for your budget and don't get tied done too much to specs.
For the same money I would rather buy a mint standard car than a less than mint Challenge car.

I was told not to look at ex Challenge cars but to go for a mint standard car. Try Simon Furlonger

Thank you for that info. Think I agree with you and will look for a standard car rather that a Challange car made for the road.

Is there anywhere I need to be looking other than Pistonheads and Autotrader?

Yes it is original one, D. Miller is a good guy in my view. The car is from Switerland LHD though.

Really dont care what you think of him. He tried to pass this recreation 250TR of as a real one. That speaks volumes to me, so hense my warning to check. Very few dealers/specialists can be trusted from my expereance.

That just looks like a normal 355 with a different steering wheel to me. Where are the racing seats, the different wheels or the cage?

Edit: How can anybody try to pretend the 250 us genuine? Surely people who buy cars like that tend to do their homework. How much was he trying to sell it for?

A real 250TR is worth more than £10million if I recall correctly.
