Who owns the Lambo AWE 550M
Discussion
Hi. Thanks for the heads-up. Yeah I saw this when it was first announced and was thinking of getting it. However it's not quite of the same calibre with the missing E and probably will go relatively cheaply as it's an auction plate. My plate has been around since the early 70s.
Having bought pair-up plates for my cars before, I've always decided to use them and have different words on them so reckon I'll probably give it a miss.
I know the guy that pocketed AW55 OME as a 2005 plate is asking in excess of 30K. Bit pricey I reckon

Hence the yikes face. Checked it out on DVLA's website. Surprise surprise, it's one of the numbers they kept back and auctioned off in 2005. It made about 8K inc fees, but then, that is an auction price. Prefer my plate as it has the central E and I reckon the new format plates are a little harder to get away with a gentle squeezing of the two fields of character rogether.
tload too much.I noticed that DVLA also auctioned of AWS 50M this January. Think this last offering clears them out fill AW65OME comes along in 5 years?
Trouble with these plates it's easy to get carried away when you see a good word plate. I ended up collecting quite a few. But bottom line is, you always have your favourites and tend to just stick with those on your cars and the rest sadly on retention.
I'm looking forward to buying something orange so I can put my ORA176E plate on it.
