evo needs your LP560-4!
Discussion
If i owned a LP560-4 evo would be the last person i would loan it too, considering the moan i put up on flemke's thread about EVO, i was expecting someone to contact me apologise about the lack of a mention of my company for doing before and after rolling road tests on Dickie Meadens 106 for free, however it seems they are far more interested in sucking up to flemke because he got an apology straight away, well i'm sorry i don't have an F1, I just work my arse off running a business and I don't think its too much to expect favours to be returned.
I have read EVO since day one, but i'm never buying it again, and I'm never doing a favour for a journlist ever again, because quite frankly, i feel bloody taken advantage of.

Top Gear asked me if they could use a Zonda and a Koenigsegg for a gentle supercar economy comparison. Didn't want to pay.
A few months later they aired the piece - it was a hammering round the track at Dunsfold to see what hit the worst economy.
In my experience, Top Gear actively try to pull the wool over your eyes.

Wasn't aware of any of this, but very happy to make sure a mention goes in the next issue. We always do our very best to thank everyone who helps us out - we couldn't put many of the issues together without the assistance of PistonHeads and petrolheads generally - but occasionally things slip through. Did you take it up with Dickie afterwards? It's really unlike him not to thank someone for a favour like this. But please accept my apologies on behalf of the mag, and if you don't mind dropping me a line at petert@evo.co.uk I'll make sure something appropriate goes in the next issue.I have read EVO since day one, but i'm never buying it again, and I'm never doing a favour for a journlist ever again, because quite frankly, i feel bloody taken advantage of.
Regarding the shoot next week, there's absolutely no performance testing or track work involved. If anyone has any suggestions about where we can find an LP640-4 we'd be very appreciative. Good thought about the e25 car - they're usually extremely helpful - but on this occasion the car is unavailable (out of the country, I believe).
Thanks all,
Peter T

Had a very different experience of Top Gear when they borrowed my Carrera GT. They asked to use it for "fast cornering" shots and group shots with an Enzo/F1/F40/Zonda etc, and it was used purely for this. I went down there myself to watch filming and they were 100% good to their word.A few months later they aired the piece - it was a hammering round the track at Dunsfold to see what hit the worst economy.

Not my experience of the EVO team at all.I have read EVO since day one, but i'm never buying it again, and I'm never doing a favour for a journlist ever again, because quite frankly, i feel bloody taken advantage of.
Take Tommo's offer up.
EVO have consistently been the best at looking after people during shoots.
Ruttboy.

If you never buy "EVO" again you'll miss this months which I think has some of the best content for years -particularly McLaren F1 article with feature on Gordon Murray - a cool guy and genius combined !
If I were you I'd be more inclined to stop buying it next month !
Without wanting to sound like a fan-boy (I believe this is the term), the latest verson of EVO featuring the Maclaren F1 is one of the best mags I've read in ages - I usually go through the EVO / C & SC / Classic Cars / Motorsport / Autocar / Autosport merry-go-round each month and had started to get a little tired of the this vs. that format - great to see such a good edition If I were you I'd be more inclined to stop buying it next month !
