Chaps,
I've just been to look at a V8 Gransport at Graypaul Notts.
It looks great in the vibrant blue hue, 11k miles on an '06 plate for £39k.

However, I know nothing about these cars or any potential issues that could arise, servicing/running costs etc...
So before I sort a drive in it I just need to do a little homework first, so if any of you could give me a bit of an insight to ownership I'd be forever grateful wink
Many thanks.

(if it makes any diffrence I've got a 996 x50 and car will be used weekends only)

I own a 4200, so I'm not really qualified to offer you any advice.

I suggest that you head of to these forums.

http://www.sportsmaserati.co.uk/forum.php

http://www.maseratiforum.co.uk/

You'll find everything you'll need on there. I'm a relative newbie too and the guys on both sites are both very friendly and helpful.

Zip,

Loads and loads of info on either of these:
www.maseratiforum.co.uk
www.sportsmaserati.co.uk

Well worth heading over to them, reading through the info and then asking specific questions.

Broadly speaking, the later cars (we made 2004-2007 I believe) are pretty well sorted and while they are expensive to run compared to 'normal' cars, they're generally thought to be reliable and are better when used. Its worth reading up on running costs, but again, search the above sites.

Good luck!

I'd say it was hugely overpriced. you can get an 09 with 8000 miles for £45k.

IMO, GS's are priced on milage. It seems that the age is secondary.

The 09 will be 09 registered, not 09 manufactured. IIRC they stopped making them in 07, so its been sat around for a while.

Lovely colour combo on the 09 one though.

I’ve just switched to a GS LE from a 4.5 Cerb.

2,500 miles in the last 10 days including Spain and back and I’m a happy chap.

Make sure you only drive it with the sports button on wink
