Gallardo Problem ( E gear )
Discussion
Took the Gallardo out today for the first time in about 7 days, Drive about 15 miles and it seemed ok, parked up for about 10 mins and when I got back in first and second gear hardly worked, I was using enough pressure for the car to have been travelling at 30 + and it was only doing about 5 - 10 mph.
I parked up and left it for a while and the issue seemed to go in the low gears but I felt under hard acceleration it was not always preforming as it should, in gears where it should have been flying it felt a bit like a turbo lag, nothing , nothing then it flys.
The warning check is not coming up with any problems.
Any ideas ?

it may be slightly reving higher than the speed its doing , Hopefully its not the clutch but it does sound as though it maybe. Although just out of warrenty its only done 8,000 miles so would like to think the clutch has not worn so soon, I would have thought another 7 - 8000 miles beofore it was getting near to that.

Im thinking how to get it to a garage, all are some distance from me.
Join the AA if your not already a member, call them out to your home, they will put it on a Low loader and take it where ever you want. I have done this before.Found out today that at the last service some 1400 miles ago it was showing 25% worn, im now thinking its something different or im such a terrible driver than I have wasted the clutch in 1400 miles of driving, The guy at the dealers said that he has know people to burn out a clutch in 2500 miles, what would be be done in a driving style to damage it so much ?

Unless you know you are slipping the clutch a lot or driving terribly then I highly doubt you have done the clutch if it was last measured at 25%. Will the main dealers charge to check the % on the clutch ? Just tried with an Independant and apparently ONLY the main dealers have the computer software for the E Gear.
I am concerened that as soon as it goes into a Main dealers the clutch will be replaced at £ 3700 regardless if its needed or not

Ask to see the report. It has three measurements:I am concerened that as soon as it goes into a Main dealers the clutch will be replaced at £ 3700 regardless if its needed or not

- Wear (we consider them worn-out at 5.6mm of wear)
- Deterioration (a clutch can be 25% worn but has a high deterioration index and slips)
- Overheating Time (evidence of a hard life / standing starts / track work)
Expect to pay half an hour's labour time for the report.
No dealer will sting you for a clutch you don't need if you have the report.
Good Luck, hope it's not too serious...
Still not sorted anything yet and am driving the car and it hasnt done again what started the original posting, I cant fully decide if the revs vs speed is still a miss or if its now my imagination or not.
A question for those in the know, when pulling away in first gear the bite point is still absolute immediate, once in gear just a tiny amount of pressure on the acc and the car will start to move, Is this less likely to be the clutch worn ?
