i don't believe that this publicity will do lamborghini any harm at all

some of us buy their cars at least in part to stick the proverbial two fingers up at these boring doom-mongers

It emits as much Co2 per mile as five Toyota Yaris' then? I don't think thats too bad given it will hardly ever be driven. In fact I'd wager that most murcie owners will only do 1/5 of the miles that a typical yaris might do as a daily commuter over the course of a year. So therefore one is no worse than other. Now **** off!

The english/grammar in that article is of much more of a concern to me than the subject matter, pikey.

Greenest sports car is a Vauxhall Tigra - must be a loose definition then!

Need to factor in the the equation that the Lambo will also get there quicker then the others, therefore less time on the road which then means one less car in the traffic jam biggrin

Driving the Italian supercar releases the same amount of CO2 gas as chopping down a wood the size of a football pitch every year.
I didn't know my chainsaw produced the same amount of CO2 in an hour as a Murcielago did in a year...

I think the government should promote supercars for foresters!

What they don't take into account is the energy vs lifespan of the car. The Lambo will still be around in 40 years whereas the Prius etc will be junk before 10 years is up and how much CO2 will be produced building the next one?

Sandal wearing, tofu eating, lib dem guardian readers forget the following:

- 'polluting' should take account of mileage not just co2
- they ignore that electric cars produce more co2 not just in the making of the electric car, but also the battery and the making of the electric itself...
- they ignore that a car that is 'recycled' through the decades from user to user is better than cars which end their life on government scrappage schemes...
- they ignore the psychological element: lamborghinis makes people happy (driving them, seeing them, etc)...seeing a car run on water or cow pats brings a smile to no one....coffee
