Picked up my first ferrari yesterday, it's a 360 spider 2005 with 17k on the clock, taken it for spin today and the engine management light has come on but drives fine, had a look in the manual and a constant light means emission problem, any ideas on what is causing that, thanks.

Might be a red herring but when I had mine and light came on I was advised to switch off the power using the battery save switch in the front "boot", leave for a couple of minutes then switch back on. It cleared it on mine a couple of times. Worth a try. Good luck!

If its anything like the Masser system its probably because you didn't let it go through its checks before firing it up. Switch on wait for the light to go out then fire up. Alternatively a very short run from cold and then starting again normally sends the Lamba sensors a bit loopy due to the rich mixture when starting from cold then not having time to burn them clean. So next time you start it it thinks the sensor are cranky or the managment system has gone haywire as it detects the mixture is all askew.

Naz,
Give me a call and I'll talk you through an ECU reset, dead easy, should put the light off.

Best regards

Tim.

Congrats on the purchase, got mine a couple of weeks ago and been out enjoying it today with the roof down, such an awesome car!

Hope you get the EML sorted quickly enough.
