At my last service (minor) I was told that the next service I needed was a really big one, apparently it would take about 18 hours or so. I was quoted over £4000!

Could someone please explain to me what exactly needs doing on these major services? I have had quotes from Indy's of about £1350 for a major service, but want to make sure that if I do go to an Indy, everything that needs doing is done.

Thanks.

Can't quote from a Lambo point of view, but my next service is a mahoosive 50k mile one on my 355, and when I got quotes, the Indies worked out as 30-40% of what the main dealer wanted. It seems about the norm, but I will be ensuring that the Indy covers all the service items due. I'm tempted to take a day off to watch them do it for info as well as peace of mind

Thanks, I am already registered, they are not really very competitive to be honest.

Hi

Dunno where you are based but try MP Supercars in Lothian. They did my 30,000 service. Did a great Job. Search my previous posts for the costs. I cant remember off the top of my head and i don't have my bills close to hand.

All the best.

A little bit too far! I am on the south coast. I want a company called Emblem in Bournemouth to do the work, I have used them in the past on my Maserati and they have now started doing Lambo's. I would like to know what the requirements are for a major service. For example the main dealer has said that the o2 sensors all get replaced, which I see as unnecessary. What takes 18 hours to do?

lol @ you see it unnecessary. I don't know what the service entails but i would rather replace the sensors if thats what lambo recommend rather than moaning later about it being an unreliable car. Dont skimp on maintenance.

I would never skimp on maintenance. But I am not a mug either! I have never moaned about my gallardo being unreliable, in fact it's probably the most reliable car I have owned. Just because a dealer may say somthing needs doing, does not necesarily mean it does. An o2 sensor is an easy fix, I would rather replace them when they need replacing. You sound like the type of person that would hang on to every word your told just because the person talkings got a clip board. Please don't come on here with your childish 'lol's and unhelpful comments.

£975 + vat is good, who's doing that deal? I am in between southampton and Portsmouth. When I looked at the site I could only see Emblem listed near me (with no price listed). They already quoted me £1350 + vat. The cheapest I could see on Supercarhub is £1404 at super car clinic, which is too far away anyway.
One point I should emphasise is that I don't mind paying whatever it costs to get my car serviced, but am sick of getting shafted for unnecessary work. I would like to understand why a main dealer is saying that the next service is over £4000, and indy's are saying it's around £1500. If it genuinely £4k then so be it, but something is not quite right here.

Peter - our 'call back' option gets you the special rates with a Franchise - Sytner Lambo in Birmingham - just logon search and click the button - there's no charge (ie its free!) just an automated email and at £1,700 + Vat - thats quite a good deal versus the £4K you've been quoted..

As per the indies (use the major 15K service) - you'll have Migliore in the Midlands (£999 + Vat) or KHPC £ 1,280 + Vat - OK these guys will collect as per Lambo Sytner, just hit the call back with all 3 and get them to quote, all done with the click of a button - so no need to hang on the end of the phonesmile

Birmingham seems like a good price, perhaps your local Lambo dealer might match it.... if not factor in Petrol and a travelodge and its still a good deal for a proper stamp in the book smile

I dont think I am gonna take it to a Lambo dealer for this service. I have had the best service ever from a Company called Emblem in Bournemouth and they have just started doing Lambo's. http://www.emblemsportscars.com/home.aspx
