Im looking at a 2004 Maser and would want to put a Maser warranty on it - assuming its possible is it like the Aston one where you have to have it checked out first ? and idea of cost ?

I dont think you can get an official Masser warranty, I got a third party warranty, cost about 1k a year. It ended up paying for itself.

It was a company called Auto protect http://www.autoprotect.net/products/p_car_mbi_pp.h...
I had several claims in the first few months, they paid out without any kind of inspection or hassle, which did surprise me at the time!

Many many thanks
my plan is to take it to a dealer for an inspection at £250 and then decide if I want it after the report

If you have any specific questions, head on over to:

www.sportmaserati.co.uk
www.maseratiforum.co.uk

Loads of info there and some very knowledgeable chaps.

Thanks

I don't know if Maserati do an aftermarket warranty, although I assume they do. If they do all you should have to is take your car along to them, get them to check it and pay a grand or 2 and that’s it.
Hope that helps

Maserati wont do a factory warranty on cars of that age, IIRC even the main dealers use alternatives once they come out of the approved used schemes smile

It should be serviced aver 6k or 12 months, which ever come first.

I would walk away from that one personally.
