I know it was an option at one point, but are they available to buy by themselves does anyone know (i.e. to retrofit to an existing car)? They do look great and am a bit bored by the normal wheels on them!
cheers

No you can't.
The wheels being offered above are "scuderia style" - Scud has different wheel carrier which means they won't apparently go straight on to normal coupe/spider. Not sure I believe that though. I believe these "scuderia style" wheels aren't as light as the genuine scud wheels. Knowing what I know about Ferrari I wonder whether that's all just a con. When I asked about 5 spoke forged 16M wheel upgrade, was quoted £9K and £3.5k for scud-style...

OK thanks; it seems unlikely that Ferrari would bother to produce a 'fake' set of it's own wheels though? I know you could order them new as an option for a while on normal 430s, maybe just a spacing issue, but again not quite sure why it would be? The 16M wheels do look good but 9k??

On another note, what about a retro fitted challenge rear grille? Presumably requires replacing the bumper as well, is it possible at all or just expensive?

It's time to change the Gallardo for the 430 I've wanted for ages but want to find the right one with ceramics which is easier said than done. There's a blue Scuderia at Dick Lovett which I think is just fantastic but too much money for me, don't want to take a 50k spank when the 458 Spider comes out!

i think the scud grille is fitable just as you said needs whole rear bumper so rather more expensive than it used to be

To get the challenge rear grille you have to change the whole rear bumper as it's completey different. It's not the simple replacement panel it was on the 360 and 430. The bumper itself is nearly £4k from Eurospares http://www.eurospares.co.uk/partsListing.asp?M=1&a... and that's before painting, costs of removing the old bumper, fitting the new one and buying any new fittings required for it (the cavallino is different for starters)are taken into account. It will be a pretty expensive mod which you won't get back come resale unfortunately.

the scuderia and the regular car use different width wheels hence the reason for their being a 430 scuderia style wheel and a 430 scuderia wheel.
genuine scuderia wheels are 8" front and 10" rear while the regular car uses 7.5" and 10". ferrari offer the wheels in the correct sizing for the f430 model as part of their options list so while they look the same they are 0.5" narrower on the front and thus run 225 rather than 235 tyres.
wheels are available from any dealer either individually or as sets via the parts department.
