I thought there was some movement on the California as have read on some old posts here that a good amount was obtainable, maybe I'm wrong confused Got the build slot, now coming to negotiate final price..

Can't say that you definately won't get a discount but three dealers I know are quoting well into 2011 for factory orders now and are looking for used examples which they are still retailing around list. On that basis I'd suspect the chances of discount are pretty slim. Ferrari have also cut back UK allocation to support residuals AFAIA.

There were some discounted 612's, but as the California has a waiting list, I’d have to say that you may find it a tad difficult getting money off. The only exception I can think of, would be if you can find a cancelled order in a spec that nobody else wants.

yep...what he said ...cancelled order should be 10k below list imo
have you thought about a year old 599?

As the 599 is not convertible he will also need a tin opener.

Try going through a broker as the dealers will normally "offload" their surplus stock through brokers in order not to influence the official market price by their own actions. If you PM me I can direct you to a guy that helped a friend of mine to get a LP 560 at 25k below list with collection directly from the franshised dealer.
I don't think the California sells well but a Ferrari dealer would be the last one to admit.
