So none of you know the reccomended oil?
Thought not.
I'll speak to Maserati tomorrow......
Mine has a label on the underside of the bonnet which specifies the lubricants. I don't recall what it says though. Also, as Mustard points out probably best to find out what is actually in it, to avoid mixing.

Cheers Chris. spotted it under the bonnet but couldnt find it anywhere. much appreciated.
I was told by the maranellos service guys that standard 10W40 from shell - available in your local optimax filling station) is perfectly ok in a pich too - if you can't get 10W60.
Basically they said it would run pretty much happily on anything, only thing to avoid they said was letting it run low / out (which is I suppose pretty obvious anyway...)
On a seperate note anyone got the standard 3200 tyre sizes to hand as I'm getting proces for new rubber and I cant remember the exact spec...
Think it's 235/35/18 for the fronts and 285/35/18 for the rears - anyone remember?

Fully synthetic Shell Helix ultra is the choice of drivers who demand the best. That's why it's the only motor oil recommended by Ferrari. Shell Helix Ultra meets or exceeds all handbook recommendations demanded by your vehicle manufacturer*. Shell Helix Ultra is based on Formula 1 technology and is formulated to provide the highest levels of protection and performance.
I have 6x 2L containers in my garage £5 a container.

Sounds like you got all that off a Shell ad ...

Sounds more like he's trying to flog it.....

Just so we know what we're comparing...
The "original" Agip SINT 2000 is/was semi-synthetic, just to confuse us Agip SINT 2000 GPX is full synthetic.
I get the impression from friends in the oil industry that "semi-synthetic" is a marketing term for what is basically mineral oil. As such it doesn't approach the anti-wear properties of a synthetic oil, but then neither does it react badly in engines not specifically designed for it. Stories of rattling bearings and exacerbated oil leaks when converting from mineral to synthetic on older engines are legion on the web.
Cheers
Ian
