Discussion
Hello Italian car and bike lovers!
I know there are more than two of us on this forum!!
I am organising this event again at Hopetoun House South Queensferry Nr Edinbrgh and putting out information to give older people like me time to plan to attend! I have posted this on a few forums to gain as wide an interest as possible.
The web site for the event is:
www.italiancarandbikeday.co.uk
If you need more then please contact me in usual way

I know there are loads of old Italian cars and bikes in garages and lock ups. Time to get them out and running!!
We are trying to give Hopetoun an indication of how many may attend as exhibitors or even visitors so the catering/staff/toilets will be sufficient. Would be good if people could post here if they indent to come

... the car will be heading almost all the way to Scotland very soon but not soon enough - this event in 2011 will include Kermit the Raging Bull(frog)!!

The car was being driven by AI test driver Roberto Giordanelli with XXVIII seen in the passenger seat of the car for the first time in over six years of ownership at that point...

I'm getting yet another stab of 'missing-my-Lambo' guilt again...

Hi
was nice to have met so many people from this forum at Silverstone last weekend. A bit scary when people come up and ask ' are you Paul' and I had no idea who they were!!
Anyway, I do hope that some of you will make it up! Best comment was from someone from the Maserati club ''Edinburgh, Frankfurt is closer''!! It isn't necessary to cross the chanel or hadrians wall to get to Edinburgh!! Mind you in view of that persons age i think he was talking about bomber range!
See you on the 15th??

Hi there
Hopetoun charge £5 per car to get in so in short yes we all have to pay to have our car in front of the house. Doesnt matter how many people are in your car it is still £5. The public who are visiting pay £3.70 per adult and £2.20 per child. Compared to most other events eg Autoitalia the entry price is actually very low. All the money goes to Hopeton as I am making no money from the event!! So far cost me a fair bit
Sorry that was no clearer

Paul - no disrespect to you - but I and my dearly beloved choke at the idea of having to pay to display our cars. If event organisers want to attract the general public then the cars should get in free. Why would we pay to have snotty childrens finger prints and possible belt buckle, handbags, zips etc scratch a very expensive paint job?!
Hi
I do agree with you but when we are trying to start up an event it is impossible to find anyone who will take the commercial risk of allowing their venue to be used in this way.
However almost every event I have been to has the same payment ours is a fraction of what it costs for people going to say Autoitalia. Silverstone was £55 for a weekend pass!
If the event is very successful I will try and change it for next year

could do with double that number! Come on guys; Edinburgh isn't that far away and great driving roads from the south to get up/accross!
Should have the web site back up tonight! I hope!
