Afternoon,

A friend of mine has asked me to sell his 53 plate Gallardo. Just wondering the best place to advertise it. I've sold plenty of cars in the past but never anything quite like this.
Any sensible suggestions would be welcome.

Thank you

Right here on PH? Also worth asking some of the dealers in the classifieds if they are interested?

When I sold one a few years ago I advertised it in Top Marques, Exchange and Mart and a couple of other online places and only ever got calls from dealers and agencies. Put it on here and sold it very quickly. I would say put it on here first, make sure it is priced right and it will sell quickly.

I too would vote for a PH ad. In my experience, Autotrader is a waste of time and money and if you do manage to get a call, it'll be a timewaster. I've found quried from PH to be better and from more likeminded poeple.

Good luck and take the sensible precautions re messers and chancers!

Somewhere in the 60's, judging by a few i've seen listed/sold this year with similar spec.

I think you could realistically for a private fast sale through PH get £52-55k for it with the miles and such. Perhaps a little more if you are willing to sit with it for a few weeks?!

Above this price range there are much lower mileage cars available in the low 60k's many from dealers.

Having had a look at PH might well give it ago at £49995

Thanks Sir M, I'll mention it to him.
Gonna get some pics over the weekend with a bit of luck.
I'll put it up early next week.

I had a near identical spec blk gallardo last year - dealer offered 45K for it which i declined, and i sold it privately on the first day for in excess of 10K of the dealer offer (on PH) with 7 calls on the first day and deposit taken that evening. I sold it too cheap.... I would try it on the market for 55K.

Yes, you should put it up at 53-55k imho. I have been lookign around for a good one for 9 months, missed out on the perfect car in January by 2 days and since then prices have formed slighjtly, but not many decent ones around (imho) for a long time. I am not in the market now, but I suggest you make allowances for the mileage and you should definitely achieve more than 50k imho.

If you think you will sell it for 50K now, spend £2K getting a brand new clutch fitted, and it will shoot out the door for £55K plus.

Where can you get a new clutch for £2k ? I would put the car up at £57k with a view to get £55k. If you put it up for £50k, it will go the same day, probably within minutes, and you will regret trying for more. Even at £57k it will be the cheapest Gallardo that I can see for sale anywhere.
