F355 - my experience

A few summary points from a previous owner of 3.5 years......
All IMO of course :-)
Good points :
Stunning looks, still doesn't look dated
MOST parts can be sourced for sensible money
Some good independant garages out there so main dealer can be avoided
The NOT so good points :
Getting harder to find a good car due to age, previous damage etc
Not that fast (be careful what you race)
Scary in the wet (absolute death trap in wet !!!)
Use can be limited depending on where you would take it
and how many times you would use it in a year
No great performance enhancements available for engine
F1 editions can suffer issues and be expensive to repair
My top tips :
Only buy a manual one
Only buy RHD
Only buy a good re-sale colour combo
Service history / traceable knowledge about the car essential (NO IMPORTS)
Have the car checked over throughly first before spending your hard earned money
I'm sure there will be some dis-agreers out there with regard to the above but
I dont G.A.F about any replies - I would have welcomed this advice before taking the plung in the past :-)

Regarding the two comments above. One should not go racing a 15 year old F355 against modern sports cars. In its day the F355 was pitted against the Porsche 993s which had a little more power. That was 15 years ago when it was a ground breaker of a car. The same can be said of the 360. These days even a family saloon car has more power,
There is actually very great performance enhances available from the likes of novitec and Norwood. These companies turbo charge and supercharge the 355 engine. But the enhancements can cost almost as much as buying a used F355.
Or on the other hand if you want to keep the car normally aspirated. You could always buy one of the various stroker kits if you are handy with a spanner. This will take the capacity of the car to 3.8 liter, with power in excess of 450bhp and more torque.
Now imagine a stroked engine with twin turbos
