458 Jinxed??......Must be a slow news day.....
Discussion
Good, the more this gets coverd/exposed the better. All papers in all countries should do the same, to shame Ferrari into recalling and fixing the problem sooner rarther that later.
We all know it took Ferrari 15 years to do a major potential fire recall on the F355s (2009).

News on BBC1 did an article about the supercars in London last Monday; they talked about the "BMW Q6" and the "GT Ford"; what they meant was a BMW X5 and a Ford Mustang.
Just go and read a section of the BBC "Red Button" teletext service to see how crap their journalistic skills are!Best part of a page devoted to this in today's Sun. On-line version:

OK if we dismiss the crashes as driver error then that just leaves the fires. Considering about 300 458's have been delivered then 1% of them have gone up in smoke in similar circumstances. If this happened with any other volume car maker then an investigation would be well under way by now.
According to some reports Ferrari are now looking into the fires as they should, let’s hope that if a fault is found they will act accordingly

A rate of 1/100 cars already going in smoke would be insane; but there must be more than 300 of them; I've already seen about 30 different 458s. Wasn't one of them burned in in a warehouse fire? Assuming the 458 didn't start the fire, this is just wrong place, wrong time.According to some reports Ferrari are now looking into the fires as they should, let’s hope that if a fault is found they will act accordingly

So that makes four so far to go up in smoke, this is getting beyond a joke. If I was an owner I would be worried about driving it nowisuk said:
Ferrari have been proactive. There's a current campaign going on for the 458 for the fitment of a restyled breather vent pipe for the fuel system. I had mine done today and it's only a 45 minute job.
Isuk, has this part been identified as the cause of the fires or just something that needed fixing?isuk said:

So this is a "Pisssst, there's something wrong with your car. We'll fix it but don’t tell the press." type recall? Doshy said:
