would you trust a £40k 360
Discussion
There have been many 360s for sale in late 30s let alone 40K. There have been for over a year now. 40-45 is were 360s are now.
Do the usual checks then go for it.
One other thing worth considering is if buying from a dealer. What did they buy the car for at trade price, could have been late 20s early 30s, then they put on there huge mark up. But why should/does it make one feel better if it has a 50k show room screen price?
And yes dealers get the cars for bargain basement prices, i mean you try trading in your old ferrari in as part of a deal on a newer model. Its dam right insulting
This should put your 40K price tag into perspective.

You could be lucky, you could be unlucky. But when we're old men, and fast cars are banned as being too un-green/unsafe (speed)/not possible to have the speed limiting devices fitted, when your grandchildren sat on your knee, what would you rather say:
"Yes. I had the chance to own a ferrari. I took it, and it was brilliant. This one time, I had just changed up to 4th at 7,000rpm and...." or...
"Yes. I had the chance to own a ferrari. But a lot can go wrong, you know. They can be expensive. I might have lost money on it, so I bought a new repmobile and lived with the depreciation, which probably costed me more then a big bill on a car which didnt really depreciate all the time I owned it..."
You are dead a very long time. As Ferris Bueller almost said, if the chance presents itself, you should take it. Who know what might happen

kin "A plus" that man. I like your chain of thought
My gf's father ran one (recently sold via PH) for something like 55k miles of its 63k (to date) mile life. As far as I know it ran relatively trouble free, with only minor wear and tear part replacements, he never mentioned any major problems at all. I think he let it go for low 30ks, the guy who bought it got a cracking deal, even if it does develop a shock-horror bill of a few grand, it'll have still cost the guy sub 40k.
As stated though, you could end up with a trouble free car for below market value, you might not, you just have to ask yourself "If something goes wrong, do I have the spare funds to rectify?", if the answer's yes, why not take a punt on a sub 40k 360? You may end up not having to fall back on reserved funds, and at the same time grabbed a good car at the bottom of its depreciation curve.

See what this guy will sell for http://www.carzone.ie/search/Ferrari/360/SPIDER-M/... after all, he won in in a raffle so anything's a profit.

Trying to work out how posting a link to a €70 K F360, helps a guy looking for a 40 K one.
Either the seller will come down €20-30, or the original poster has a whopping spare €20-30 burning a hole in his pocket.

Can u afford the big bill when it comes /-)
Scaremongering stuff like this and all the internet talk of engine detonations and various carnage kept me out of Ferraris for years before I took the plunge. My own fault, I chose to listen to all that crap. Yes of course it's possible but you can hedge out most of this risk with a decent inspection and regular maintenance.
I'm just pointing out that looking after these wonderful cars correctly you have to spend more than most are used to.
Oh and I have owned several fezzas
and each time I looked I have never found a so called bargain

Yet no-one has said don't do it.OP, make your own decision. Could you cope with the big bill, if it comes? If you think you could, you'll have a great car. If you couldn't, you may be buying yourself an expensive worry. Just be realistic.
I bought a £40k 360 from Walkersport and it was a fantastic car. Absolutely tip top. I've now got a Scud, but to be completely honest, I'm kinda questioning whether the Scud is really worth £100k more......
Get a 360 from a trustworthy source, ie: walkersport, and I don't think you'll get better value for money - plus the depreciation is going to be virtually zero.
Go for it

I bought a £43k 360 from Walkersport too. No problems whatsoever, just general servicing/consumables. I reckon it'd be worth circa £40k now - so yes, I do trust a £40k 360.
I've been in Ferrari ownership for just 18 months and am at the bottom end of 360 ownership - from what I can gather there are two types of cars in this category - good ones and bad ones. I know someone who bought a similar car to mine at the same time - they "saved" £4k on the purchase price whereas I decided to go with a trusted seller. Guess who's had a top end rebuild?
I've been open with all my experiances over on club scud - I have the same username so please do search and read how I got on in the last 18 months.

Thanks guys. It's amazing how similar this is to people posting on the Porsche forum I'm on when potential Porsche owners ask the same question about buying a 911. Life is certainly too short, I agree. I think I'll look for one around £45k and from a reputable dealer who'll give me a warranty worth having.
I drive my 911 every day, and do around 10,000 miles per year, does anyone here use theirs everyday?

You sound like me! I bit the bullet and tried a high mileage Gallardo for a year. No major problems or big bills. "Yes. I had the chance to own a ferrari. I took it, and it was brilliant. This one time, I had just changed up to 4th at 7,000rpm and...." or...

At least I can look back and say I've done it.
I'd probably rather regret doing it, than regret not doing it!

Nothings wrong with a 40k 360 ... just back from a 3000 miles trip driven mainly sideways around the French Alps and yet again no problems. These cars are pretty bullit proof and i have never had a major problem with any of mine.
And they can still cut it out with the other stuff !!!!
