Hi I HAVE A SET OF 5 PIECES OF HANDMADE LUGGAGE THAT I THINK WAS ONE OF THE FIRST SETS MADE BY SCHEDONI SPECIFICALLY FOR FARRARI IN THE LATE 1970'S. THEY ARE AS NEW AND HAVE BEEN IN STORAGE FOR MANY YEARS. THEY SEEM TO BE REALLY RARE AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD WERE SERIOUSLY EXPENSIVE NEW £5,000 OR SO - CAN THAT REALLY BE THE CASE?.DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW MUCH ABOUT THEM? THEY HAVE ALL THE KEYS AND BAG COVERS TO GO WITH THEM AND ARE SERIOUS QUALITY. I HAVE FOUND A PICTURE OF SIMILAR BAGS NEXT TO A PICTURE OF A 308 GTB BUT WOULD WELCOME ANY INFO ON THEM. THEY ALL HAVE THE FERRARI LOGO AND MODENA EMBOSED ON THEM.

Schedoni are top luggage manufacturers in Italy with an association to Ferrari. New luggage "fitted" to new models is expensive. If yours is in good condition and you can post some photos or you have details regarding its origins it could well be worth something.
A new set of luggage for a 430 or 599 IIRC is abot £4,000

Thanks for that I have also just found a forum in the states where a guy said these early sets are really really rare and never come up for less than $2,500 for a well used set - but mine are nearly new.I will take some photos and post them in the next few days if I can. Thanks again for your help. I must say that they they would look good in any age of Ferrari not just 70's or 80's.

They were normally made to fit a specific model, the market for factory add ons is a funny one, if the cases are perfect they are worth silly money, as the spit and polish crowd like to have everything matching for competitions e.g. thousands for original tool kits or even keyrings in their original grease proof paper bags eek

I'm almost ashamed that I know this, but that looks very like the 5 piece set for a 328 nerd

Hey dont be ashamed I am really impressed and after a disappointing start to this forum find you guys to have been really helpful! I guess I now need to find someone with a concours 328 who is looking for a perfect set of luggage to help win that trophy and I have made their day. Anybody know anyone or got any ideas? From your last post i assume the set was only made for that model and will not fit another . Is that correct?

I had a similar set that I "gave" away for about £1400, it was there doing nothing - it paid for some of the service :O). I could have waited a lot longer but I bought it for £700 so thought it was a good deal at the time.

There is a real market for this in the States and Europe, I was surprised how much PM's I got. One thing I will adivse take tonnes of pics - as anyone paying a for this sort of thing are a very choosy.

good luck and kind regards Aamir

Shag me sideways, this is bloody lovely looking! Hope you'll make a fortune...

Btw, if I were to give a piece of advice - contact a local photo club, ask if any of them wishes to, take a series of demanding close-ups of a set of very rare and valuable Ferrari-items? Throw a couple of quid after them as well. Could reeeeally add to the value, should you decide to sell these online.
