Enzo just sold for 640k all in at RM Auction. It had 9k on the clock. With this in mind I find it a tad frustrating that alot of dealers and or owners have their Enzo's up on PH for alot more money, in some cases twice as much. No wonder they spend months and months on there. Waste of time if you ask me.
Yes, I get what you mean.
Like the 07 plate Enzo up for sale at Romans International. When I visited I asked the guy how much he wants for it as it was POA. £1million minimum! And that was nearly three years ago.
Besides, the high mileage Enzos are probably the better ones to go for as they have been run in and used. You hear horror storys of people who buy super low mileage supercars and have things go wrong with them (usually oil seals) and have to fork out an arm and a leg for an engine rebuild in extreme cases.
Complete waste of time.

In a lot of cases, the cars are advertised speculatively, with the owner not needing to sell the car, but willing to if there was a big enough profit in it for them . . . . . I advertise a friends F40 for him every couple of months for £50k over the current value, simply so he can tell his wife that she was right and he’s trying to sell it

THAT is the actual market level behind all the BS on the few adverts.Exceptions: Undriven cars for museums/collections etc.
The reason why they're advertised way over where they "typically" transact is because you can never exclude the thinkings of an insane Russian etc who will go in and pay whatever you want on a whim because it's just rounding error to him. These people of course distort the market and the silly prices are there to catch these people. Serious sellers like the 11,000 mile car at Dick Lovett price sensibly. The rest are "fishing", trying their luck/not really interested in selling.

It has occurred to me that very low mileage F40's, F50's, Enzos etc may be cars that have been trailered to race tracks before being hammered for 60 miles, then put back on the trailer. In which case, a car that has done reasonable road mileage is probably the better car.
Not a decision that is ever going to trouble me, so I will rest well tonight

The best Enzo for sale is the one Tom Hartley has in, o.k it has done 11K miles but is up for £595K, that is cheap for an Enzo and you know that buying a car from Tom Hartley will be mint, after all, he is known as the premier dealer.
Thats one of the followinga: very tongue in cheek, as a car you've bought from him wasnt as good as you thought it would be.
b: You've bought a similar car from TH and it was perfect
c: A post from somebody with no practical experience yet believes the advertising and PR rubbish
d: The great Spanish reviewer el' socko puppet

Or friends of his has bought a car from Tom and is passing on his opinion?
I know a few chaps who have and no bad experiences to boot.
I'm not casting any doubt on the level of service offered by TH. My point was, that without a sensible amount of practical experience with these cars and without physically inspecting it, it's impossible and almost foolish, to make statement as to whether it is or isn’t the best example in the UK.I know a few chaps who have and no bad experiences to boot.
Almost all the specialists in the UK at that sort of price point (W Loughran, Romans Etc) are capable of and frequently do, offer a service at the same sort of level as Tom H
In my opinion Enzo prices are way way to high. Realistically they should be sitting at between £600-700k, maybe £1Million for a brand new delivery miles example, but certainly not for one with a couple thousand miles.
Regarding high mileage cars I guess it depends what you're buying it for. If you're buying it to drive then yes a "higher mileage" (It's mad that 9 or 10k is considered high) is probably the best bet as it' been used. If you're buying it as an investment or to sit in your office and never get driven then the low mileage car is the one to go for, in my opinion.

A a guy who my dad works with bought a Mercedes ML63 AMG from Tom Hartley about 3 years ago, he said the service was second to none and he thought he was far better than other supercar specialists he went to see in the same sector as Tom Hartley (i will not name the other supercar specialists)
Maybe, but good customer service has nowt to do with guaranteeing mint cars. That is one dangerous assumption.Gassing Station | Supercar General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
