The Zonda HH has been delivered to its young new owner at the Ascari circuit in Spain where he also had a chance to drive a Zonda R around the track. I have to say it does look very nice in that colour.

It’s a shame he won’t get to drive it much as the car has to stay in Geneva whilst he lives and works in the USA. All his attempts to import it to the states have come to nothing as he is a US citizen.

He will just have to run up those frequent flyer miles I suppose

Am I the only one who thinks the Zonda F was the pinnacle of styling and these latest and more extreme cars look, well, ugly? Too many extreme wings and things...

Why can't he get in? There's a yellow C12 S running around in Southern California.

Clips of the Zonda and a BF 660 Murcielago at the Sheriff's Run.

I used to love these but I don't think they are ageing very well.

Stunning colour though.

That car is not regarded as a personal import. The guy who owns it has it registered as a research car for his company. It was a very long drawn out process to get it to that position.

There is no way a US citizen do a personal import of a Zonda unless he is prepared to alter it to a great extent and put it through a whole bunch of testing with the EPA and US customs etc

It can be imported if you know how.

Feel free to PM me for details

Cheers for the info, that's what I thought but was surprised seeing the vid with a US plate on it. It seems there's always a way if you have the patience and are prepared to spend a bit of time and cash.

I do like his idea of "research" biggrin

There is a long thread on LamboPower by the cars owner - iirc he has gone through lots of legal advice and was told no
The most famous Zonda in the states on US plates is the one owned by Wyclef Jean - but again he is not a US citizen

For me that's easily the best looking of the Zonda 'specials'. Lovely colour, convertible so you get to hear more of that engine, perfection.

The C9 is going to have to be pretty special to top the Zonda.

And i'm sure it will be - just bloody show it us already Horatio!!!! biggrin

I think the S was the best, but this is probably the best looking of the new cars.

Agreed, Cinque, HH etc etc, all too fussy. I'll go for the S (or F) Roadster...in this colour please.

Legal advice is not the same as understanding DOT regs and laws. There is a way legally. And is a route used by a few manufacturers. But the manufacturer has to be willing to work with you.

Wyclef Zonda was imported on a show and display exemption and then never exported. I was asked earlier in the year to help make it a legal car in the usa but after the morons who imported it (i do know who they are) did so illegally it wont ever be. Shame

I am always surprised when people say the Zonda is a fussy car because if you really look at it has to one of the least fussy supercars ever. It is a very simple shape with on only one real styling line along its flanks. The scoops are subtle say compared to a Lambo and the wings again not overly large.

The HH for example is very similar to an F. The rear wing is the same apart from the stays, which are a little higher. The only additions are the rear diffuser, the front winglets and the snorkel scoops on the rear

The carbon bits, the intakes, the colours.....the above Zonda is not fussy, but the HH just has too many bits stuck on it....and where they are stuck on, they're carbon not painted?! Not for me.

Perhaps they refer to the interior? I hate the interiors of zondas almost as much as I love their exteriors. Too many differnt materials, cluttered and the colour schemes are generally eyewatering.

Which was the one with the wooden steering wheel? Carbon fibre everywhere and then the steering wheel out of an 90s merc.
