There are two other 04 cars around the same price, one listed by Zero Performance as sold so it doesn't seem too crazy and it is low mileage........last time I looked you can ASK whatever you like for your car but the market will dictate whether he gets anywhere near that figure.....

It may be absolutley imacculate and im sure most are very well looked after , i think i was just a little supprised being a very early car. Its quite a lot more than most dealer cars.

I appreciate the low mileage but from what i have read on Ph thats not usually a good thing with a car 6-7 years old

Most of the cars below this price are either black/silver, manual (e-gear was a £6k option), 53/04 plate cars or with 3 or 4 times the mileage. I suppose it just depends on what you personally put a value on.

If you don't mind a low spec, black, high mileage, manual car, you can be in a Gallardo for £55k. Whether the £70k car is £15k better is debatable and down to personal opinion.

I would go for manual every time.

Low mileage like that on a car of that age would put me off. I would only get a car that has done at least 6k miles a year. Otherwise I recon components may have seized corroded or rotted through lack of use.

Not bias....Being the owner of a relatively high mileage Lambo - i'd give that a... +1

i'm not convinced by the low mileage argument, i just sold a diablo with 7.5k miles on the clock, it never missed a beat, had virtually no problems in 8 1/2 years of ownership and nothing ever seized due to lack of use, it was a pre audi car too, surely a gallardo would not suffer with low mileage use? as long as it's maintained correctly.

If this was a 355 I'd agree.

My car had 7.5K on it when I bought it three and a half years ago. It now has just under 15K on it.

I take it out once a month (work usually stops me taking it out more regularly)and it goes on a run whenever it is started. It never gets started and stopped without being taken out for at least 50+ miles.
This I think is the important thing as it gets all of the components used and lubricated, bearings have a chance to change position and everything gets a workout. I wouldn't call it a garage queen and would love to be able to use it more. It has never let me down or missed a beat. It is kept clean, and the only time since owning it that I purposely went out in the rain was to Wilton House this year.

On the original post, 70K seems a little high, but you need to see the car and judge the type of owner it has had. If JK or someone with a similarly large collection of cars was selling it, would that be such high a price? Not for the ex-owner prestige (which counts for nothing in my book) but the fact that it will have had money thrown at it to maintain it to 100% without question.
What would make me walk away without question is a "celebrity" owner who isn't known for their driving ability, JK, Jodie Kidd etc. excepted. A footballer who has the IQ of a plank, apologies to trees all over the world for the association, would be THE worst person to buy a car from. IMHO

As you may have seen this year, prices were depressed end of last year and started to pick up due to increase in demand early this year. This has resulted in a short-term (say since March/April) shortage of *good* Gallardos - especially in the pre 2006MY age range. The buyers that couldn't get the earlier and cheaper good ones have pushed prices up since then - so that even 28k mile cars are up for £62k+. This allows a 7.5k mile car to command higher price all things being equal. Most markets tend to overreact and either fall or rise toof ar - one could argue it has probably risen too far now imho. I missed out on a 11k mile high spec G on a 54 plate for 61K in January.

This particular car is probably over the top in terms of price, but bewareof the difference in advertised price and the transacted price. If others have advertised similar cars at this price but actually sold at say £67k then its misleading but market-makers will look to do this of coursesmile

I have stayed out of the market due to quality vehciles (imho) not widely available and this has been compounded by the fact that prices have risen too far to be a good buy - again imho.

Must admit I really don't agree on the low mileage arguement at all.
having 3 bikes with very low mileage, as an example a 98 Aprilia with 3,000 miles, as long as they are maintained properly the mileage is somewhat irrelevant for a low mileage car/bike. Higher being slightly different case IMHO.
MY G is 07 with £13K on clock so low'ish. No issues at all with any areas but do have it serviced properly annually and well looked over. As Will says, if it sits in a garage for nn months or years and is never moved etc then you might well have some potential issues. But started and driven once a month I don't see where any issues would arise given this being part of the maintenance schedule.
