After my weekend at the NEC I've come to the conclusion that my 4200 is a little......quiet...

Its on standard pipes, so what should I replace them with? I want a nice sharp tenor bark and some low end rumble and crackle rather than the high pitched wailing I've heard some pipes deliver.. any suggestions?

Andy,

The Larini setup is the best on the Masers in my opinion.(Just had the LArini Cats and Rear Boxes done on my QP) They offer all the components from the cats to the rear boxes.

No droning or booming, just a great sounds, that increases with volume as the revs rise. Plenty of testimonial on the Maserati forums here in the UK and in the US.

Thanks

Andy,

Speak to John at Nouvalari, my old man had rear silencers done for his 4200.

Sounded incredible

Just off J27 of the M1 - He will fit them as well. 07545 618204 John.

Make sure when they are fitted the pipes slightly protrude the bumper.

This will stop resinance in the cabin at low revs.

From memory the ones on my dad's car had adjustable sleeves on the pipes so you could set them perfectly.

I'm looking to retain the standard back boxes bu delete the 2nd set of cats in the system and to eliminate the squashed section of exhaust where it passes under rthe steering rack.

Depending on the result I may also ditch the large center resonator and replace with a Larini X pipe type section.

I'll have this done at a custom fabricator such as Nuvolari or Haywood and Scott though as the Larini prices are beyond silly.
