What's peoples view on clubscud, a lot of issues going on; people leaving, people getting banned by the overzealous committee, threads getting locked etc etc...

So what do people think?

What changes and improvements should be made?

Simple; if you want to make changes, stand for the committee and do it the correct way, rather than coming on here and stirring it.

I've not visited for a while, mainly for the reasons mentioned above. But I agree this probably isn't the place for it.

Well, if you tried to start this thread on clubscud it would be shut down immediately.

I use the site a lot - am v happy with it.

I only normally look at the Ferrari Talk & Tech sections so I don't really know what all the whingers whinge about but I have an idea there are a handful of people with a lot of time on their hands & they seem to enjoy annoying the moderators.

Overzealous Committee!! That would be the Committee that where every member has to be voted in every two years. That would be the Committee that has never been the same for any to years running. That would be the Committee that to which no-one who ever criticises puts their name forward.

Ah yes, that "Committee".

Firstly, not everyone votes, there are paid members who don't bother voting.
There are a lot of politics to this voting malark. Additionally even the voting process was found corrupt at one point.
You're fast to protect your comittee friends, but the fact is the forums is a mess.

Absoute bks. Why ask for other peoples views and then diss them?

CS has a lot of strong personalities on it as do most forums.
The mods and comms do what they do without being paid and within the bounds of the rules that they themselves are bound by. It's not always possible to please everyone all the time, those that don't like it leave, those that do stay. It still has a healthy membership so you can take what you want from that.

It is inevitable that disagreements flare up from time to time, it's human nature, not that it would ever happen on other forums ...ever seen an argument on PH? wink

That's the politics bit out of the way, the members in the main are a friendly, passionate and knowledgeable group. So if you're asking from the perspective of whether it's worth asking questions or going to some of their meets then I would say yes give it a go.

There are more than enough people on CS who post elsewhere, so add it to your list and read the threads you want to and ignore the ones you don't.

Very useful forum with some great guys using it.

Too much pointless arguing and politics though.

Don't use it and don't see that this forum needs to know about the politics of it either.

Great forum with a lot of knowledgable people, been on it for about four years. As far as the mods being heavy handed, they operate within the guidelines given and in recent weeks have given fairly concise and clear reasons for their actions that should not leave much doubt if people took the time to read what they said rather than bleat on.

The people who constantly bicker are a small minority of attention seekers who desperately need to be the centre of attention (good or bad). Which is quite distinct from those who have strong opinions, expressed with conviction but in a sensible manner, with which others may agree or disagree. Nothing wrong with healthy debate, it is the lifeblood of any forum (whether real or on the internet).

You can't force people to vote, but that doesn't mean it's not democratic. There were suggestions, but with scant and largely hearsay evidence offered, and therefore found to be unsubstantiated, that the election of Feb 2009 was not squeaky clean. That is now long in the past and to ensure no possible future repeat accusations the CS comms invested and introduced a voting system for the 2010 election on a 3rd party independent voting system which resulted in probably the most corruption free system that could be devised for an online forum election. There were no complaints about the 2010 election.

If you don't like CS then go somewhere else and leave it to those that like it as it is - simples.

Since you have a lot to say on the subject and you obviously keep a check on what's going on over there it would be interesting to know what your username is on CS ??
