Thinking about buying one of the above, any thoughts? I prefer the original car to the updated version and I definitely want a manual as well.
What is it like to own and is it anymore expensive than a fezza?

I've thought about buying one but every time I, either the right car isn't out there or I chicken out. I will buy one one day. As far as I know reliability wise they are pretty good, clutches are pretty expensive from memory, something like £5k although I may be wrong.

Slightly odd comment IMHO, a bit like asking why someone would choose a 250 GTO over an Enzo. When I bought my Countach 3 1/2 years ago, I paid a lot less than I could have got a Murci for. The difference isn't as great now of course, my car has appreciated a huge amount, whereas a Murci would have stayed static at best. I have never bought any car as an investment though, the rise in value is just a lucky coincidence for me.
Buying a Countach isn't just about driving, it's about the looks, the feel of owning the car that was the ultimate dream as a kid, it's a purchase from the heart. Personally, the fact that I can do much of the standard servicing on my Countach myself also makes it a more realistic proposition for me. I have no power steering, 4WD, ABS, ECU etc. to go wrong at vast expense either.
Having said that, I like looks of the LP640, and if someone were to offer me a straight swap for a mint, low mileage LP640 roadster in Verde Ithaca or Orancio Atlas then I'd be hard pressed to say no. But that's not going to happen so I'll just keep enjoying my Countach.
Good luck on your search for a Murci, if it's your dream then just do it. You only live once, life isn't a dress rehearsal etc. etc.

If I was pants there was other people worse. Was the first season racing and I didn't manage any pre season testing. Best result only 10th but in a field of 20 competitive cars I was pleased. I didn't do the last 2 races as work commitments meant I couldn't test, good offer on the car meant it was time to finish. If I look back now then in hindsight I would have gone in at a lower series and got more testing. Look forward to getting some pointers from you if I go back out. I learnt alot from advice from the quick guys in my team.Shall I get the custard?
Not sure what your problem is but usually when people post on here asking advice they update the thread with what they have done. You have an amazing collection cars and I look forward to seeing the pictures.

Having owned a 360, Murcielago and now a LP640 Roadster IMHO this is my input:
1. The Murci is far less delicate than the 360 to drive. The brakes are not so good as I would have like but the aggressive manner of it was great. More expensive to run - hey, but why does that matter with your current garage!!!!
2. The LP640 is a far better drive - more active, light footed, and with the E-gear(not my first choice) its actually really good fun to drive. Cheaper to run IMO and the brakes are fantastic!!!

.....although I was looking at a Koenigsegg CCR a couple of weeks ago - bloody awesome!!.....might yet be tempted.
