From the website: "0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph"

If you're never gonna drive the damn thing, what is the point of having the performance?! tongue out It might as well have a 1 litre 4-pot in it....would still look as pretty wink

oh yes....! I see the point you are making.....I've had it wrong for so long now....

it's about getting from A to B in whatever manner possible, 60bhp is optimal!

it's wrong to buy a car and then not use it....
the point is spot on.....
take the engine out and put it on a pedestal...or just buy a model.

if you're not going to drive it then don;t buy it, these are drivers cars.

People buy paintings for millions and millions of pounds.. I would
Get more pleasure with a hangar full of cars even if I was just looking at them than
something hanging on my wall..

But paintings are made to be looked at. Cars have all these little things (seats, engines...stuff like that) to make them move, to make them driven.
It is a perfectly valid point being made.

I'll add an addendum to my previous post: while anyone who buys a car like this and doesn't (have the balls to? wink ) drive it should have aforementioned testes removed as punishment (insert equally horrible female equivalent fate should the buyer be a woman), there is an argument that maybe the car company, Lambo in this case, should always make an extra car that they never sell that just sits in a hardened armageddon-proof shelter under a mountain for posterity. But that should be the only one! biggrin

Yeah, some of those people buy those painting and put them into sorage/safe keeping, so not being used for the principle purpose for it's creation, but instead as an investment. A bit like not driving this car..

Each to their own, it's their money ane their choice. I just prefer to see paintings on display and cars being driven.

Kind of a silly concept making a car like this and actually selling it to the general public imo.

I get the "just cos" mindset, but even Veyrons whilst expensive are made in sufficient quantity that they can be practically driven. The comparison to paintings is particularly astute - it seems completely illogical to me that cars like this, sold in such tiny numbers, even have an interior or an engine since neither could realistically ever be used.

Am I missing the point completely by saying that Lamborghini should've made more of them even if this meant the "exclusivity tax" (which presumably is irrelevant to them anyway isn't it? Wouldn't Lambo only ever get the original sale price for it?) is lower? They would still sell incredibly well, and the owners could probably consider driving them without the fear of wiping thousands of pounds in value off them every time they go to the shops.

The point I am trying to make is that a lot of these cars are bought by busy people who have multiple
Cars..you can only drive 1 car..some just end up being just possessions...rarely driven, but give pleasure
In the same way some people have multiple watches and only ever wear 1..

"Rarely driven", and "never driven" are 2 very different scenarios..
