Hi guys,

Some help please. Does anyone know of a company that will insure a 360 Spider for one day only?
Ive tried dayinsure and they wont cover it. :-(

Thanks in advance,
cheers Ed

For a price I am sure. Probably about £10,000.

I'm afraid that someone who is going to insure a Fex for one day is going to be seen as likely to be driving like a loon, and therefore be a very very bad risk!

Have you tried asking the owner to temporarily add you to his insurance or ask yours about a temporary additional vehicle ?

Cheers for the input so far guys!

Mine wont insure me on someone elses car unfortunately. Owner going to ask about me to his but obviously not ideal if the worst were to happen - which it wont - obviously! smile

It is ideal if the worst were to happen: you'd be insured under the owner and registered keeper's policy!

I didn't think that the same car could be insured by two different insurance companies at the same time. Therefore unless the owner covers you on his insurance or cancels his insurance for a day so you can insure it I can't see how it would work. Sorry! (I'm probably wrong about this as well!!)

I added my girlfriends 24 year old brother to my LP560 insurance for a weekend as a birthday present, it only cost £50. He is a good driver but i wouldn't let him out in the car on his own as it's so easy to get carried away.

If your not used to a really quick car be very careful because it will potentially try to kill you if you tempt it, enjoy and drive safe, you will love it.

ps If i were you i would wait for dry weather to drive any high end car, its not much fun in the wet anyway.

If you are buying the car you may qualify for driveaway insurance, Norwich Union offer a 7 day cover to collect your car. It is conditional but is a fully comprehensive policy.

Cheers for the further input guys, both tempcover and the one above don't cover Ferraris. :-( Atleast so they say. Wonder if its because im only 29.

Id rather sort separate insurance so if the worst did happen I wouldnt destroy his immaculate history. If I were to have an accident then it would hike his premium and this is far from ideal.

I've been lucky enough to drive some quick cars (430, 2-11, 500 bhp evo etc) so i'm unlikely to bin it. Not buying it though im afraid. The plan is to drive the misses from the church to the reception in something nice. Trip is only about half an hour so don't really want to spank a grand on a decent hire car. I wouldn't be allowed to press on either as the misses would have a kitten and the likely result is to get the marriage annulled - therefore a waste of my hard earned readies.

Then you may be covered third party on your other car to drive cars that do not belong to you

(PS have a great day with or without the car)

I am trying to arrange the cover on my insurance. Looks like it should be manageable, they will get back to me on monday.

Obviously no concerns whatever about your driving ..otherwise I wouldn't be offering wink .. but the sight of a convertable red Ferrari makes some folk drive like a loon in order to catch up / get close / get past / give the finger / etc and I am more keen to insure against the consequences of their stoopidity rather than yours. smile

Obviously if you prang it I can always invoke the custom of jus primae noctistongue out
