360 power outputs & general questions
Discussion
The 360 is quoted at 400bhp @ 8,500rpm but my question is do the cars actually make that power and are they prone to losing that power figure as they get older. For example, if i picked 5 random cars from the classifieds and strapped them on a dyno would i see figures all around 400bhp or would they vary greatly?
Secondly, are there any buyers guides available anywhere so as to have a quick read on what the general problem areas are. I found the one on EVO.co.uk but it didnt tell me much.
Thanks

I think there's one at vendor www.walkersport.co.uk and a huge thread at the top of the 360 section at www.ferrarichat.com
I somehow have a figure of c 360 in my head, which I think I read in an article comparing it to the CS - something along the lines of the CS feels much stronger than the quoted power uplift as the modena never made the quoted 400. No idea if I remember this correctly or where I read it, so better wait for somebody with more knowledge to come along.
Incidentally, I've heard tell that Fcar horsepower figures are measured at the crank rather than at the wheels (i.e. deduct 15% or so from the crank to get the bhp figures....ish....I think). It would explain why my 996 911 felt at least as fast as my F355 does despite my 355 supposedly having a 50+ horsepower advantage!

that's torque !ferrari gets the extra bhp purely by revving c15% higher

Ref revving 15% higher, is that actually the case? If peak power is developed at say ~8,250rpm like in the 355 where the limiter is at 8.5k, they'd have to be over-revving it by over 1k rpm which is incredibly disingenuous as you as an owner would never be able to do that even if you wanted to (and probably wreck your engine in short order)

My 7000 mile 360 was dyno'd at 393BHP/270lbft.Am vaguely looking at buying one and had heard they were variable on bhp outputs. It'd be good to know what to expect.
