Just thought I would share this, as looking back it was slightly comical.

I was left this afternoon to look after my 5 month old daughter. Having decided there was nothing to do at home I remembered that I needed a washer for a leaky tap.

Now if I was a woman I would have, called a friend and arranged a coffee near a hardware store, purchased said washer and come straight home taking 1/2 an hour.

Men do things differently though !

Having not driven the Lambo for a couple of weeks, I decided as it was a dry winter's day to give her a blast to get said washer with said baby. So warmed the car up in the garage, strapped the baby seat into the car and trundled down the drive.

Male logic kicked in at this point and reminded me that there's a Plumb Centre in Hastings (approx. 30 miles away). After a "spirited" drive there found out they were closed. Rather than give up, I decided to head along the coast, just because the road was there. After another 30 miles (and more "spirited" driving") decided to head back to Hastings but instead of heading home remembered there some great roads near Rye, so stamped on the gas and headed that way (adding another 50 miles of silly grins).

Alas there were no open plumbing shops in Rye so headed back home via some of the best A & B roads in Kent enjoying every single corner and acres of grip.

Returned home, put Lambo back in garage, put cover over car and was busy reminiscing about what a great way to spend 4 hours of an afternoon and what a truly great car the Lambo is, when 2 things struck me.

1) I had failed to get the washer
2) The baby was still in the car seat asleep in the Lambo!

Men, we're great aren’t we ?

I'm considering taking my R8 out for a dawn newspaper run (via northern France)

Did something similar to that shortly after I got my Countach. Woke up one Sunday December morning, a couple of weeks after getting the car, looked out the window and, on the spur of the moment, decided to do a day trip to Brugges! Weather was fine in the UK, but it was a bit snowy/slushy in Belgium.

Been there! You would be shocked how many times I've gone to get a pint of milk only to come back in the Ferrari 4 hours later with a huge smile, a dribble of petrol left and no milk!

Man after my own heart - well done!

Sun was out yesterday and the snow started to thaw so I took the opportunity to go out and buy some, er, milk. It was a bit nippy but with the heater on full it was brilliant:
