how long until 458 hits 100k?
Discussion
Depends on many things really. They're a huge step up from the 430 apparently so owners may keep them longer. Production volumes will also have a major influence, so if Ferrari produce quite a lot then expect the price of them to lower faster - having said that one of Ferrari's golden rules is to keep exclusivity. Also warranty will have an impact - I'd imagine a few will sell up before warranty expires.
I reckon in around 3.5 - 4 years they will start to hit this price range - at a complete wild guess. In four years, they'll be a load more new supercars you'll also want too.

psychologically i cant bring myself to spend over 100k on a car. even 50k is probably madness. i try to catch cars at the right part of the depreciation curve not to get burned. so far so good...
Very sensible. I had my R8 for 15 months (bought used) - cost £65K and sold for £62K. I've now got a new Cayenne on order and although I can afford it I am struggling with the thought of paying near £60K on a new car - especially a 4x4.psychologically i cant bring myself to spend over 100k on a car. even 50k is probably madness. i try to catch cars at the right part of the depreciation curve not to get burned. so far so good...

Also bear in mind though that in say 4 years time £100k then will only be worth say £85k-£90k in today's money when adjusted i.e. how much actual purchasing power it has. So what you're kind of actually asking is when will a 458 cost me £85k-£90k psychologically i cant bring myself to spend over 100k on a car. even 50k is probably madness. i try to catch cars at the right part of the depreciation curve not to get burned. so far so good...

There is no doubt that buying new is crazy from an economic point of view. garyhun said:

Especially a Cayenne ... friend of mine had the new Turbo four months..he's struggle to buy your R8 at the current offers he has had; so he is keeping it instead.
If it's the new shape model he must be trying to sell it in the wrong place or it's possibly not a great spec or colour? They are fetching close to list as the supply of new cars is severely limited.isuk said:

Its black with the 21inche wheels - well specced by all accounts - but apparently the trade are not interested. I said to keep running it in and I`ll take it off his hands next year! Either that or I`ll go for the new ML AMG which should be an animal ...
If it's the new model the Sytner group buyer will have it at a fair prie I'm sure. They are definately buying these cars at present.Edited by Try5t on Thursday 27th January 13:30
