Hi All
Could you give your thoughts please on what the following might be worth? It is in Europe.

2008 Superleggera. Black on black. LHD. Built November 2007. It is unregistered and has been in a private collection, un-used. They are asking 149,000 Euros Excl VAT. I would have to pay 20% Tax on top of this where I live.

Anyone any views on what is a fair price for this. It's not a car I HAVE to have but am going to look at it as I have always liked them. If I can get it for the right price then I might buy it but I suspect the right price is perhaps 20,000 Euros less?

Any thoughts gents?

Cheers

With the price for a brand new car is resonable, however the depreciation on it is quite a big drop. You may be talking about few months later it may get down to #100 thousand or somewhere in that area. If it is me I think i will consider a RHD and used one. You in UK i guess? as it is 20% vat biggrin. A LHD for me in uk is not a smart choice. But by the end of the day is a good car, hope you enjoy it.

Ok thanks. I'm in Europe so LHD is okay. I guess I am trying to figure out is it a premium because it is new. I.e to me the value is really the same as one with 5,000km because I don't care about it being new other than the fact import duty where I am is 20% for new compared to 40% for second hand (seller does not know that)!!

If you can afford it I would have it, absolutely amazing cars!
I prefer them to the LP570, just for that noise! could listen to it all day smile

All the best whatever you decide.

which means it's not a superleggera as we know it, but the federalised compromise with glass rear windows, standard gallardo seats and only half the weight saving yuck

Andrew - why do you say that? I haven't seen it yet, seeing it on Sunday - they said it is Black paint and black interior (maybe it's dark grey - dealing with Spanish people!)

spanish !!! are you sure it's a lambo ???

sl came in two variants produced in roughly equal numbers :

euro one had 100kg weight saving and amongst other things a grey alcantara interior
us one has half the weight saving and leather gallardo seats, often in black

one had waiting lists, one was discounted new

Sounds expensive to me in relation to UK prices, which are sky-high on Superleggeras.

If you can get your hands on a UK car it would probably fetch £110K, so 150K Euros + Tax sounds like a lot of money.

Ok cheers guys. My gut feeling is it is 20k over priced but we'll see how things go. Appreciate the advice.

I think it's prob eur20k too much. But having said that I spent the last year looking for one of these and they seem to be selling off market and becoming increasingly difficult to source. I was lucky to be at the right place and the right time and have just bought a White SL. Pick it up next week : )

You can get low-mileage examples for 130K incl. VAT throughout Europe. 180K Euro incl. VAT is crazy.

A car which has sat at a dealership for 3 years will need a decent service too (garage queen). If you want to put it away, it would be worth it, if you want to drive it, buy one with 10-15.000km on it for a lot less.

Yeah fair enough Simon - thanks for that advice. The problem I have is that to import a second hand car to where I live duty is 40% - new is 22%! I do totally agree with what you say though, in an ideal world be much better picking up a car with EU VAT paid for E130,000.
