GranCabrio - Are they not selling?
Discussion
Chaps,
As per the title really - I've just been to a Ferrari/Maserati main agent and they have a garage full of GranCabrio's - around a dozen or so, versus only a couple of QP's and a hand full of GT's.
Are they not selling, are they not very highly thought of, is the recession biting or are they just stockpiling in time for the spring?
Is there good deals to be had? (not that I'm looking!)

When I looked in September I was told by a seemingly surprised salesman that new order wait time was down to 6 months which would assume not selling too well. I'm not sure why that would be though because it's a lovely car but I went Aston instead.
I could never work out though how you would live with a 4 seater without a boot.

4-seater GT with a soft top that ruins the otherwise elegant lines of a stunning car. See one in Edinburgh regularly and it's horrid compared to tin-top. Not surprised it's unpopular.
+1It just looks awful with the roof down. Looks too long or something? Used car bargain for someone in a few years time.

They didn't set out for the Granturismo to ever be a convertible; it was going to be the Maserati California but then Ferrari stole that and they needed to chop the roof off the GT.It just looks awful with the roof down. Looks too long or something? Used car bargain for someone in a few years time.
I am really interested in one of these (with Grantourismo oval pipes) its on a 3 car short list of DBS, DB9 and the Mas. They seem to settle at £85k once out the showroom and I think prospective buyers with an eye on residual are looking for the next drop (I am). At £75k and sounding glorious and fresh looking I prefer it to the DB9 at £95k ex demo or a 2010 DBS at £139k
Well, I think the GranCabrio is absolutely beautiful and definitely the most elegant car currently on sale IMO. However once I saw the boot, my dreams of transporting the entire family across Europe on holiday kind of went out the window. Absolutely ridiculous it is, briefcase sized. There really is no point having a four seat convertible with no boot space. What's even more crazy is that the California is actually more practical in this respect and has a folding metal roof!
