Who would recommend which one to buy either a two year old 599 with 4000 miles or a Bentley Continental 4 seater Supersport pre-registered. Both are the same money and are super high performance vehicles but I do prefer comfort of the Bentley but the Ferrari 599 has the wow factor on looks. Any comments welcome.

Depends what you want the car for really?

The 599 is a much sharper car but if you plan to use it regularly you'll be precious about it. It also is only 2 seats, of course.

The Supersports is quite possibly the best car as an all round package - it probably does EVERYTHING 8 out of 10 and can carry 4 and tons of luggage when you want it to.

612 with HGTC, love the aloofness of these, less nouveau riche than the Bentley with all the feelgood factor of the 599 plus the Bentley's practicality.

I've had a couple of Continentals and was loaned a Super sports for a couple of weeks a few months back. I just didn't get it. It's a faster, sportier Bentley which to my mind, makes it a worse Bentley. It is certainly my least favourite of the Continental family. Also, as has been said, it will almost certainly depreciate like a stone.

599 is an infinitely better driver's car and again, if depreciation is a concern, I think someone else would have taken most of the pain if you're buying used.

If you really need the 4 seats, maybe get an FF on order or buy a regular Conti GT/GTC and spend the difference on something for the weekend (e.g. 360/early Gallardo)

Thank you for your Interesting comments. It doesnt matter what car you buy as soon as your drive out of the showroom you lose money apart from the Ferrari 458! I think the Bentley is a great car and i have driven a coupe on several occasions, It is very powerful and does it in such a refined way. I am more worried about the depreciation on the Bentley because of the new Continental GT coming out next month, although the Supersport wont be made for some time, if at all, it must reflect on the current models for residual values. The Ferrari 599 on the other hand, is a real thoroughbred sports car and i think the residual values are reflected by the season in which you sell. I have got to make my mind up this evening, but a difficult one.

Very True, but Ferrari are amongst the best and Bentley are amongst the worst for depreciation.

It sounds like the depreciation is really important to you. In that case, it has to be the Ferrari.

Good luck.

Pretty sure that there is a video on Evo comparing the SS, 599 and DBS.

DBS did well.

For me it would have to be the 599 - second hand these look like an absolute bargain at the moment and whilst I was not to keen on the looks initially - it has grown on me massively. In real life they are absolutely stunning and pictures struggle to do it any justice.

The SS is trying to be something it is not - and falls into some bizarre niche I see little demand for...if you can afford a SS...why not just buy an Atom and a Conti GT? That is what I would probably do...
