I've been offered a new GTO to my spec by my dealer, can go in tomorrow and go through the configurator. But then I'll need to cancel or defer my LP700 order.

Thoughts on this nice problem most welcome guys! I'm genuinely torn. I hadn't really wanted a GTO but the dealer is making me a good offer.

Oh, just fk off!!! hehe

If it was my choice I'd wait it out for the L700.
How exclusive are they both going to be?
Limited numbers? Value in the future?

Tim.

No one on here has driven the Lambo and very few have driven the GTO so from a driver's viewpoint, you won't get any useful info.

For me Andrew, It's the bull over the Prancing Horse any day of the week. You and I have both seen the LP700-4 in the metal and I really think it's worth waiting for. I know I wouldn't swap my order for a GTO

Let us know what you decide.

On paper the LP700 is going to make the GTO look slow (!), and I have a very strong feeling that Lambo aren't about to disappoint with this car.

The fact that you can get a GTO says something about availability too, we can't supply an LP700 until very late 2012.

Sod it do both.

If you can get the GTO real quick, get that short term then chop it in before you pick up the big LP.

Have the Lambo. Personally, i've never found Ferrari's that amazing. Performance wise, they're brilliant, but looks, sound, image and pretty much everything else, i'd chose the Lambo every time.

Go on Andrew, you know you want to wink

Do you intend to keep the car or do you change fairly regularly?

If you change cars fairly regularly, get the GTO now and defer the LP700. Then you get the best of both worlds.

If you intend to keep which ever car for the forseeable future then it is totally down you what you want!

Yes, it seems from reading your posts that you like to change - I shouldn't think it will be hard to move the GTO on come LP700 delivery time - or do you think you will get an LP700 within a short space of having the GTO?

If both were in front of me I'd probably get the LP700, but since you don't have to choose in that manner, give the GTO a go and then move it on (possibly for a small profit given numbers built?)

a cynic would say the gto is an attempt to shift chassis jazzed up with some tech from the 599 replacement .
the lambo is a new car . although i dont get on with the current bunch of bulls i think the new lambo sounds interesting .

there must be a reason why the dealer is offering you good money on a gto .

failing that get both .

The lizzard man speaks the truth.

If there can be only one then it has to be the Lambo but then again I would say that

Post of the year to date!

He changes his pants less frequently than he changes his cars!

Andrew when would you be able to take delivery of the 599? I'm guessing not too soon before the Lambo? In which case, I guess you would want to wait until the following spring before getting the Lambo? What will come out and turn your head on that time? Enzo replacement? Porsche 918?
