Because it's slightly (5k) too dear for the open market.

I would say combination of that hideous fking interior and it being a manual car, like it or not F1 is the more popular choice with much higher availability and if I was after a manual i'd never pick one with such a god awful interior.

Exterior colour is stunning but as mentioned above the interior does not match well and is a very select choice, as is the open gate shifter which is a rare sight on a F430 or any modern Ferrari for that matter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the int/ext colours are the exact original 430 brochure colours (not that PH wisdom wouldn't override anything Ferrari SA's marketing dept might think). It matches the engine bay - predominantly dark with a central splash of red. And it's too common a 430 colour combo to be considered as 'unusual' or over-individual. So I don't think it's about the colour. The red interior is actually the standard colour match for the grigio silverstone cars.

Manual's got its fans too, unless you're dealing with the importance of 1/100th's of a second in an F1 race. And many cognoscenti feel the absence of that instantly recognisable steel gate and ball-on-a-stick detracts from the 'ferrari experience'. The paddle shift's a bit characterless, and the LC's just a joke really, and as users know very well, whilst an advance on the past, the F1 technology in 430's is only at the 'acceptable' level, and not a patch on what's available now, never mind what'll be available as the technology matures and progresses as it's obviously still doing.

This is a basic ferrari, not a highly specced one. It would have cost under £130k when new. But it is over 5 years old, and whilst, especially with the modest mileage, it's probably a very good car to own (assuming it has been fastidiously cared for) it's market now is people who are acutely price conscious and very sensitive to minor price differences. VFM is very important to them. And I'd be interested to hear dealer opinion.

However, think of the mindset of the average 2nd hand 430 buyer. He's not got the cash for a new ferrari, which would allow individual specification, or for a more expensive car. So he's not buying this because it's his choice from everything available, or because he's buying the spec he'd have chosen. So he buys the closest he can to the stereotype ferrari experience, and as much quality (mileage, condition, owner numbers etc) as the budget will allow. It's got to be red, because red is what most people associate with ferrari. It's got to be F1 (even if he has little or no experience of F1) because there's more demand for F1. Usuallly it's got to be spider too, tho coupe's are cheaper, because the convertible imagery (even if it's rarely used) beats coupe hands down. Interior? Cream is best. Black next. And weirdly enough that's the important stuff out of the way. Look at the number of people even on this forum who come on stating their intention to buy a ferrari. What do they start with? Mileage? nope. Condition? doesn't rate a mention. Number of owners? not important. But style, colour, gearbox, price. Those are the criteria Mr 2nd hand Ferrari hunts for.

This car isn't a spider. Isn't F1. Isn't Rosso /crema, so it needs to be £70k or even £69k to move quickly at retail. I'd be very surprised if trade would pay £65k.

Dealers. Am I right?

Unless those pictures give the interior a 'bad light', it looks pretty bright!

having actually SEEN this car i thought i would say something...

firstly, the red is nothing like as bright as the picture....and TBH i thought it was very nice and aceptable - which surprised me,

silverstone / red or bordeaux def works...
silverstone / cream ...lovely...

i also looked at a silverstone spider/black.................and it was very boring..

and as to price..........yup 70k is where i feel its at ...at

Silverstone and Bordeaux yes, rosso no.
But the main reason is I bet is that it's a SOR car.
They are nearly always overpriced until they get near the delivery date for there replacement.

I personally like the red interior, I suppose because it is a manual, although more desirable to a few buyers, the mass market is more interested in F1 boxes.

It is a little pricey too, if it was a little cheaper I think that in years to come a car of this specification would hold its value a little better because it is so quirky.

This car should be selling, Grigio with Rosso interior is quite a popular colour choice on the F430, the only downside is that it is a manual car but i think in time, the manual cars could fetch more money as the F430 was the last car Ferrari made where you could have a manual gearbox.

But why would you want Red??? i personally dont think Red is the best colour and it is too popular on the second hand market, TDF Blue with Cream or Giallo with Nero are my personal favorites.

That car is massively over priced. It is not worth that much at all. Crazy asking price.

Beautiful car though, love the colour combination.
