Will this 355 ever sell
Discussion
This has been for sale now for at least 12 months, any one know why?? all i can think of is that it is an early car and most prefer the 96-99 355's

I remember seeing this car in February 2009 and noticed that it's not sold
It appeared in very good cosmetic condition, so maybe the Giallo colour and GTS spec just has a limited market?
If it was a Berlinetta or Spider in rosso / TDF /black I reckon the price at that mileage and condition wouldn't be too far off

May be the problem is it's in concours condition. You're paying a hell of a lot of money, for what is admittedly a beautiful car but stick 10k miles on it and the associated dirt/leather wear etc and all of a sudden you've lost a lot more in depreciation than if you had spent a few £k less and bought yourself one slightly less cosmetically perfect. It's a prime example if ever there was one to always buy a well looked after higher mileage Fcar than a well looked after lower mileage one. You get exactly the same thrill for a lot less total cost.
I don't think it's £8k overpriced though, maybe £3k or so. My 355 (a Spider, so a little more valuable than a GTB/GTS) is creeping up on 50k miles (of which 7k I've done in the year I've owned it) and with a little cosmetic work (stone chips etc) would probably still fetch the £35k from a dealer that I paid for it, and that car has done nearly 35k mies less than mine! It also has the advantage of being an earlier non-airbag car without the ugly steering wheel that came after. In the same vein, it's a 2.7 so clearly a better car than the later 5.2

I think it is over priced as it is an early 355.
As far as I can tell, 355s are all so old now age basically makes no difference, it seems to be all about mileage and condition. I don't think I've come across anyone who was willing to pay more for a newer one just because it was newer and nothing elseMario149 said:

With all due respect, what makes you think that a spider is worth more than a GTB?

Just my experience when I was looking for my Spider last year in Jan/Feb. GTBs were looking about £1k cheaper than their equivalent Spiders at the time. Red cars also seemed to command about a £1.5k premiumGassing Station | Supercar General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
