Maserati GranTurismo S hard seats -- MC Stradale seats..?
Discussion
Just took delivery of my new GranTurismo S, coming out of years of Aston Martin ownership. Love the car, but my only gripe is that the seats are very hard and unyielding, in particular the cushion in the centre of the backrest.
I want to either try and get that cushion softened, or another option I'm considering is buying and having installed the great looking seats from the new MC Stradale version.
Thoughts..? Anyone else come up with alternate seat cures..?

I'm not necessarily so sure that the MC seats will be harder... the normal seats are about as hard as can get, it's hard to believe there's even foam in there...! I've often found buckets to be more comfortable than normal seats, strangely.. CLK Black Series has some brilliantly comfortable buckets, just a bit hard to get in and out of.

I find the seats fine, even on long trips.
Have you played around with the lumber support button?
Never mind the Stradale seats I want the whole car.
Yeap, got the lumbar support turned down as much as possible. The bit I have the most issue with is more the upper half of the back rest, above the horizontal stitched lines. But on the whole the seats really are quite hard and unyielding compared to every other car I've ever owned... it feels like you're sitting on top of rather than in the seats, and the side bolsters don't really have much effect as a result...Have you played around with the lumber support button?

I found the seats incredibly hard for the first 2 weeks or so, but you get used to it and once you do it is very disconcerting to get in a car with squashy seats. It's like getting used to a new pair of shoes. Stick with it.
Fair comment..! How are you enjoying your GT otherwise..?I love it. It is my second. I had the 4.2 for two years and swapped it for the 4.7. a couple of months ago. I find it gives an excellent blend of comfort and waftability with performance when you need it. I use it everyday, dropping my kids off at school before coming to the office in it. In 2+ years I haven't had any major dramas with either car. I have also found the Maserati ownerhsip experience to be excellent - both the sales team at HR Owen in London, and the Maserati UK outfit. Compared with the dreaful treatment I have got in the past from the so-called premium German outfits, it has been a revelation.
Getting back to your seat issue, I drove the 4.2 from London to Rome and back, including about 1100 miles in one day, and got out with no aches or pains. If you do long distances in the car (which is, afer all, what it is made for) you will really appreciate the firmer set up. And, as I said before, you soon get used to it generally.

I would agree with the comments above, whilst they are quite firm you do get used to them> I have done several trips to the South of France in it and got out after a full day behind the wheel with no aches at all. I did find that reclining it slightly helped to balance the pressure over the whole of my back and I am completely comfortable. My only real grip with them is that there is not enough lumber support when cornering enthusiastically and the thought of the MC Stradale seats is certainly tempting. Stick with it and see how you get on.
