Sorry if this has been done elsewhere, but a short search didn't yield any specific results.

The warranty is due on the F430 Spider in the middle of the year and I’m trying to decide on whether to opt for the Power Cube, Power Normal, or Power Train options. I roughly know what each one covers, however given that there seems to be no substantive literature on any options I’d be interested on opinions of those who have extended their warranties and what option you went for.

For background the car seems to be solid and not a Friday afternoon car with less than 5K on the clock - the only real drama has been a problem with the hood which was solved under manufacturer warranty....for this reason I could not see past no warranty cover.

Couple of grand for a new Power normal. Worth it? Maybe, just incase something massive goes wrong you'll be ok...sometimes.

Didnt know you could get a Cube if the car was not brand new? My knowledge on the warranty side of things need brushing up smile

What was your roof problem?

Seriously, save your money. I mean literally! Put 2-3 grand away a year just in case. Then when nothing goes wrong, go on holiday! A lot of things that fail on the car won't be covered by the power warranties. Just my 2 pence!

Good luck!

I'd have to agree with this; like you said nothing too much has gone wrong with it so far, so you could just spend a load of money for something that you'll never use. It's not like you've got an old model that'll have bits falling off it.

Apparantly £4K for the Cube, and £2K ish for the Power Train....normal I guess is somewhere in between. They tell me you can get a Cube for 2 years if you are coming out of original manufacturer warranty.

The roof frame went a few weeks back - they told me it was costly as the parts were made to order....as it was under warranty I didn't care too much about the cost. I'll take a warranty again just for peace of mind (as i'm sure I would have got my money back with the roof) but just not sure which one especially as I have a 6.2K service coming up at the same time :-(
